Position Summary:Sitting within the Finance team, the CAPEX Finance Manager owns the tracking, forecasting, and financial oversight of all capital expenditure (capex) across the business. The role manages and coordinates capital investment cases with stakeholders and runs the monthly CAPEX Monthly Performance Review (MPR) and forecast cycles, ensuring capital projects are delivered in line with company financial policies and strategic objectives. While the remit spans capex business-wide, a significant portion of the role is focused on partnering with the Construction department, which represents approximately half of total capex spend. The position works closely with operational teams, Accounting, and external vendors to provide reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement support.
Responsibilities:- Own and be responsible for all capital expenditure (capex) spend tracking and forecasting across the business
- Manage and own capital expenditure investment cases (business cases), coordinating with stakeholders across the business to ensure robust financial justification, approval, and post-investment review
- Business partner closely with the Construction team, which represents approximately half of total capex spend, providing dedicated financial support, oversight, and challenge
- Manage the monthly CAPEX Monthly Performance Review (MPR) and monthly forecast cycles, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of actuals, forecasts, and variances
- Manage accounting activities associated with capital expenditures and project budgets across the business, including construction
- Track, analyze, and reconcile capital budgets across the business, specific emphasis on construction, with variance analysis and reporting
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts, accruals, reconciliations, and budget reporting packages for Finance and Accounting departments
- Assist with the capital expenditure approval processes, including review and tracking of AFE requests and project approvals
- Develop dashboards, financial reports, and operational analytics using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Support forecasting and long range capital planning initiatives
- Analyze project costs, identify trends, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and operational efficiencies
- Assist with process improvement initiatives related to capex and construction finance, procurement, reporting, and project management
- Generate and maintain department policies and procedures related to financial controls and operational processes
- Coordinate data collection, reporting surveys, and project analysis for business and Construction leadership
- Prepare executive level reporting materials for leadership review
- Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management
Working Relationships: Construction Managers, Project Managers, Capex Budget Holders and Sponsors across the business, Finance, Accounting, IT, Procurement, Operations Leadership
Requirements:Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, accounting, finance advisory or another analytical finance role. Strong experience in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting, cost and variance analysis, management reporting, and investment appraisal/business cases. Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial analysis into clear insights and recommendations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years of experience in capital expenditure management, construction, real estate, or infrastructure finance

Other Requirements:Travel: Limited. Driving to meetings as needed using Company pool car.
Hours & Conditions: Minimum 40 hours/week
Physical Requirements: Ability to work at a desk in office environment, ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
