JOB SUMMARY:

Electrostatic Technology (EST) seeks a highly driven, self-starter to serve as the Business Unit Manager (BUM) in Portland, Maine. This leadership role is responsible for a $30 million annual business unit serving general industrial and automotive end markets and a team of 110 employees. The BUM will have full P&L responsibility across all functional areas of the business.

The BUM will set the strategic vision and direction to meet business objectives, primarily by driving organic growth through Customer-Back Innovation and leveraging the ITW Front to Back Framework. The core responsibility involves making strategic decisions and ensuring all business activities are coordinated, effective, and secure through proper oversight. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and an aggressive growth mindset.

  • Develops a compelling Strategic Intent Statement and utilizes the LRP to drive Full Potential execution.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering or Business discipline preferred); MBA strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading global component manufacturing businesses.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating relationships with Automotive and Industrial Motor OEMs.
  • Proven track record of defining and executing business strategy.
  • Experience in leading and implementing ITW tools and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with a deep understanding of P&L drivers and key financial metrics.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Hands on, results driven approach to achieving success.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and the resilience to deal with set-backs.
  • Uses personal influence rather than position power to get things done.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President and General Manager.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, within typical office working conditions.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk. Employee must be able to endure frequent bending, kneeling, standing and walking on hard surfaces such as concrete. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to lift/move product materials up to 30 pounds.

Position requires approximately 15% travel.
