Full Job Description
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and success of the hotel. This role provides strategic direction and operational oversight across all areas of the property, including hotel operations, food and beverage operations, spa operations, facilities, guest services, and team development where applicable.

The General Manager serves as the leader of the property team and is responsible for creating a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement. This position requires a hands-on operator who can balance strategic leadership with daily execution while developing systems and processes that support long-term success.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT & OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
• Lead financial accountability across property by supporting the development and execution of annual operating budgets, forecasts, and business plans
• Monitor hotel performance against budgeted revenue, labor, and expense targets.
• Review financial performance regularly and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
• Maintain strong awareness of hotel cash flow and operational financial health.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization without compromising guest experience.

LEADERSHIP & CULTURE
• Lead and inspire a high-performing team that delivers exceptional guest experiences and strong business results.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
• Promote leadership development and succession planning within hotel teams
• Serve as a visible and engaged leader throughout the hotel.
• Communicate company goals, priorities, and expectations effectively to all departments.

SYSTEMS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
• Develop, implement, and refine operational systems that create consistency and accountability.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures.

• Support implementation of new initiatives, technologies, and operational enhancements.

GUEST EXPERIENCE
• Ensure every guest receives exceptional hospitality and service.
• Monitor guest satisfaction metrics, online reviews, and feedback channels.
• Lead service recovery efforts and resolve escalated guest concerns.
• Promote a culture where guest experience remains at the center of all decisions.

FOOD & BEVERAGE AND SPA OVERSIGHT
• Support the successful operation of food and beverage outlets and spa services where applicable.
• Ensure departmental leaders are achieving operational, financial, and guest satisfaction objectives.
• Collaborate with department leaders to continuously improve service quality and profitability.
• Monitor departmental performance and ensure alignment with company goals.

FACILITIES & ASSET MANAGEMENT
• Partner with maintenance and facilities teams to protect and enhance company assets.
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are properly executed.
• Identify capital improvement needs and assist in planning and prioritization.
• Maintain a safe, well-maintained, and compliant environment for guests and team members.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
• Represent the hotel and Uncommon Hospitality within the local community.
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners, tourism agencies, community organizations, and local stakeholders.
• Support sales, marketing, and business development efforts.
• Serve as a positive ambassador for both the property and the company.

COMPLIANCE & ADMINISTRATION
• Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
• Maintain appropriate operational, financial, and personnel documentation.
• Promote ethical conduct and professionalism throughout the organization.

• Five or more years of progressive hotel experience.
• Demonstrated success leading multi-department hospitality operations.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Experience overseeing food and beverage operations preferred.
• Experience overseeing spa operations preferred.
• Proven ability to develop teams, improve processes, and drive operational performance.
• Strong understanding of hospitality technology systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

This position requires regular movement throughout the hotel and active participation in operational activities. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required based on business needs.
