The opportunity

Our team is looking for exceptional, driven and passionate players with an entrepreneurial mindset, energy and desire to succeed. As part of this team, you will help develop and grow EY's Asset Management and Pensions team. The Asset Management group provides a broad spectrum of advisory services across Capital Markets, Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Alternative Investments, Pensions and Corporate services across Pensions Funds and Asset Managers in Canada.

We are looking for energised, motivated leaders with experience helping asset managers to transform the front, middle and back office of our clients. Working closely with our clients, offering points of view and advice, supporting them to make change decisions, navigating the implementation of technology and operational workflows and bringing teams along with the transformation journey.

Our engagements span from strategic assessments, target operating model designs, system / vendor selections, technology and data architecture design and implementation support of mid to large scale transformation opportunities

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead multiple client engagements - Manage and lead the delivery of small and large / complex client engagements including overseeing planning, execution, stakeholder management and delivering strategic outcomes
    • Provide subject matter guidance to team members based on experience and knowledge of asset management industry & experience with technology and operations projects
  • Business & practice development - Assist the partner and the team by leading and managing business development initiatives including developing proposals and scoping documents, and proactively building relationships with clients and peers at EY.
  • Team management - Support people development through activities such as recruitment, mentoring and counsellor programmes
  • Account management & Financials - Oversee engagement financials to maintain profitability, and efficient resource allocation as well as maintain compliance with internal risk and oversight procedures
    Work with the partner, other practices and the team to execute the growth strategy and initiatives


To qualify for the role you must have
  • A successful track record leading projects (10 years+) in asset or investment management industry, gained through experience working at an asset manager, a top tier consulting firm, a specialist financial services consultancy, or an asset management technology or service provider
  • Experience of leading sales collateral such as proposal responses
  • Strong business writing, presentations and stakeholder management skills
  • People coaching and mentoring experience
  • Extensive experience of project and programme delivery
  • Deep understanding of current market trends in the wealth and asset management industry and subject matter expertise


Ideally, you'll also have
  • Good understanding of one or more of the following: Buy-side front and middle office, operations, product development, new fund setup, outsourcing, regulatory landscape
  • Experience with institutional investors, asset management, pension funds or real estate industry would be preferred.
  • Prior experience in consulting preferred.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
  • Vancouver: $144,000 to $216,000
  • Victoria: $129,500 to $194,500
