Business Systems AnalystLocation: Remote (CST Hours) - Houston, TXDuration: Full-TimeAbout the RoleThe Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between lab operations and IT by analyzing, defining, and documenting requirements to facilitate effective technology solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of lab operations, along with excellent analytical and communication skills, to collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and drive technology initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Education & Certifications- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are a plus.
Experience- 2+ years of experience as a Systems/Business Analyst or in a similar role.
Skills & Qualifications- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and system integrations.
- Knowledge of databases, SQL, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of API integrations, database structures, and automation tools is a plus.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, CLIA) and security best practices.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Lab workflows
- Revenue Cycle Management
- Bioinformatics
- LIS Reporting
- Online Ordering Platforms
- Order Management
Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements Gathering & Analysis- Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate solution options.
- Document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities.
System Design & Implementation- Collaborate with developers and IT teams to design and implement solutions that optimize business operations.
- Develop system models, diagrams, and specifications.
- Test new systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure requirements are met.
Project Management & Support- Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.
- Assist with project planning, timelines, and deliverables.
- Train end-users on new systems and processes.
Data Analysis & Reporting- Analyze data trends to support business decision-making.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
