Full Job Description
Senior Business Development Manager (North America) to grow our client base across the United States and Canada. You'll be a key driver of our growth in the US market: opening doors with cities and counties, closing multi-year deals, and shaping how we go to market in the region.
What will you do?
Grow our client base
Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery to demos, proposals, procurement and closing.
Buildlasting relationships with local government decision-makers: city managers, mayors, CIOs, communications, engagement and planning teams.
Develop the US market
Source your own pipeline: spend a large share of your time on outreach, referrals, nurturing warm leads and events.
Bring structure and seniority to our go-to-market motion and help set the playbook for the NorthAm team.
Collaborate cross-functionally
Work closely with the NorthAm team and with colleagues in Europe.
Share on-the-ground insights with Product, Marketing and Government Success to inform our broader strategy.
Who are you?
7+ years working with or for local government (public-sector consulting, planning, community engagement, GovTech BD or partnerships, or launching a market at a startup), with clear commercial wins to show for it: contracts, partnerships, grants or revenue you brought in.
You might be a former planner, public-sector consultant, engagement practitioner or startup operator who has found you love building relationships and closing.
You are a consultative seller with an entrepreneurial mindset: autonomous, organized and process-driven, and resilient enough that long sales cycles and public-sector ambiguity don't throw you off.
You are an excellent communicator who connects with people across channels and formats, from a first cold call to a council presentation.
You are coachable and collaborative by default, motivated by mission and impact as much as by results.
Based in the US, Eastern or Central time zone, and happy to travel around 25-30% of the time.
You don't need to tick every box. If you're excited about our mission and bring the drive to grow, we want to hear from you.
What's in it for you?
The chance to build social impact at scale through public sector innovation.
A senior role in our expansion in US and Canada and international growth (50-person team, 20+ countries).
A mission-driven and collaborative team culture.
A path to becoming our Sales Lead, US
Competitive salary: $130,000-$160,000 OTE, incl. variable.(50/50 base variable split)
Perks: full remote flexibility, healthcare benefits, 26 PTO days, annual global team retreat, training budget, and more.
