Florida Virtual School (FLVS) is a public online school based in Orlando, Florida. The school offers online courses for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as adult learners. FLVS was founded in 1997 as the first statewide Internet-based public high school in the United States. The school has since expanded to offer courses in a variety of subjects, including core academic subjects, electives, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. FLVS has a diverse student body, with students from all 67 counties in Florida, as well as students from other states and countries. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
