DescriptionPosition Summary/PurposeLEAD YOUR BRANCH. BUILD THE TEAM. PUT REAL RESULTS ON THE SCOREBOARD!We're looking for a Branch Manager who wants to run a business, not just manage a schedule. You will oversee the day-to-day sales and operations of an Allied branch and its service area, leading the Account Managers and Operations Managers who serve our clients. You will own the results that matter most: safety and compliance, enhancement and contract sales, branch profitability, client retention, and the growth of your team.
Allied is one of the top 150 landscape companies in the U.S., and we consider ourselves Landscape Operators. That means our leaders run a business unit and also understand the fundamentals of the work and the processes behind it, well enough to coach someone at a granular level to be successful.
We are looking for a Branch Manager who coaches from an operator's perspective, not just a philosophical one. We are expanding branches across the Bay Area, ownership is local and hands-on, and we hold every branch to a simple standard: Proactive. Professional. Accountable.
If you are an A-Player operator who knows the work in the field, lets the numbers guide you, and builds teams people want to stay on, you'll fit right in!
Position Overview- Highlights: Lead your own branch, a growing company, High Performance Work Culture
- Schedule: Full Time M-F, including early starts (6:00 a.m.) on field and crew-dispatch mornings
- Compensation: 175K-215K per year base salary depending on experience, plus an annual performance bonus of up to $40,000
- Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), and company-paid vacation, sick time and holidays
- Location/Job Environment: San Jose / Hayward, greater Bay Area, CA; a mix of office and field work
- Direct Reports: Account Managers and Operations Managers (Maintenance, Enhancement and Irrigation) for your branch
WHAT YOU'LL DO | Key Responsibilities- Safety & Compliance: Build a safety and compliance first culture where everyone has stop-work authority and safety vests, cone policy and PPE are non-negotiable. Run the branch driving program, yard and vehicle inspections, and safety training; report and investigate incidents promptly; and work with HR on corrective action. Every team member goes home safe.
- Enhancement & Contract Sales: Coach your Account Managers on their enhancement pipeline and proposals every week, run seasonal sales campaigns, and personally lead the branch's larger capital improvement and water-conservation (turf conversion) projects. Partner with Business Development on estimating, team selling and closing new maintenance contracts, and build a scoreboard culture where wins are visible and celebrated.
- Branch Profitability: Help build and live the annual budget: revenue, gross margin by service line, labor hours and departmental expenses. Manage labor closely (scheduled vs. actual hours, drive time and non-productive time), track the profitability of every property, and build corrective plans with your Operations Managers for the ones that are losing money. Improve routing, job preparation and estimating accuracy.
- Client Retention & Partnerships: Protect and grow the branch's maintenance client base. Personally build relationships with your most important clients, hold Account Managers to Allied's standards for property visits, client reporting, new-client startups and long-term property plans, catch at-risk accounts early and lead service recovery, and run contract renewals and increases.
- Team Leadership & Development: Hold weekly one-on-ones with every direct report and monthly scorecard check-ins, spend at least two mornings a week in the field on crew dispatch, first-job training, and hands-on coaching of Operations Managers and crews on job plans, labor, quality and routing, and run weekly branch training. Recruit, hire and onboard well, recognize and appreciate your team, and build bench strength ahead of growth. Participate in Allied's leadership team, quarterly priorities and annual planning, and in an industry leadership peer group.
- How Success Is Measured: Days without a recordable injury and driving scores; enhancement sales vs. goal and pipeline health; maintenance gross margin and labor budget vs. actual; net maintenance contract growth and client retention; and employee retention. The annual bonus rewards three branch results: controllable margin, enhancement sales penetration, and maintenance revenue growth.
