The Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories at Flushing Hospital is a state-of-the-art, full-service laboratory that performs approximately 1.5 million tests annually to help detect, diagnose and prevent disease. Blood Bank Supervisor.Responsibilities/Duties: Responsible for overseeing the operation of the Blood bank.
Supervises trains, monitors, evaluates testing personnel, and ensures that acceptable performance specifications are maintained.
Manages inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations
Ensures laboratory compliance with all regulatory agencies, which includes monitoring of QC, completing annual policy reviews and annual competency assessment of staff, new staff training as well as meeting proficiency test standards for all required analyses.
Responsible for payroll, scheduling and maintaining timecard system for employees.
Interacts with other departments and participates on Hospital committees as it relates to laboratory functions
Salary: $159,000 - $170,000Tagged as: nys clinical laboratory license
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field. (Master's degree preferred).
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
- One year training in an accredited institution.
- Must have a minimum of four years' hospital experience. (Supervisory experience preferred)
- Must have knowledge of the principles, practices, equipment, and procedures of medical technology.
- Must demonstrate leadership abilities and excellent communication skills
