Full Job Description
The Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratories at Flushing Hospital is a state-of-the-art, full-service laboratory that performs approximately 1.5 million tests annually to help detect, diagnose and prevent disease. The department includes the clinical divisions of Blood Bank, Pathology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Phlebotomy. We are currently seeking experienced Blood Bank Supervisor.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Responsible for overseeing the operation of the Blood bank.

Supervises trains, monitors, evaluates testing personnel, and ensures that acceptable performance specifications are maintained.

Manages inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.

Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations

Ensures laboratory compliance with all regulatory agencies, which includes monitoring of QC, completing annual policy reviews and annual competency assessment of staff, new staff training as well as meeting proficiency test standards for all required analyses.

Responsible for payroll, scheduling and maintaining timecard system for employees.

Interacts with other departments and participates on Hospital committees as it relates to laboratory functions

Salary: $159,000 - $170,000
