Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and leading the implementation of the BIM strategy to support the delivery of the project. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the BIM execution strategy.
  • Work with project kickoff teams to establish a mobilization plan per the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and deliver relevant kickoff meetings and workshops.
  • Coordinate with the PIM Manager, IS&T Manager, and DCC Manager.
  • Lead development of BIM project seed files, family libraries, and related resources.
  • Conduct workshops with clients, partners, and stakeholders to establish BIM requirements across the project.
  • Manage relationships with third-party BIM developers and implementers.
  • Support proposal and business development efforts within M&T business lines.
  • Participate in BIM, automation, industry, and trade organizations.
  • Facilitate integration of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) into BIM processes.
  • Conduct regular assessments to review the BEP and other execution plans and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Capture lessons learned and develop improved workflows.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience in ISO19650-compliant projects and 3 years experience in pharmaceutical or API facilities.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Significant experience working across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and IS&T functions in support of BIM and project execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain new work processes and technologies to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly within an integrated project delivery and information management environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Experience developing project standards, class libraries, and master data management solutions.
  • Experience developing data management execution strategies and configuration control processes.
  • Experience working closely with senior client personnel, joint venture partners, and subcontractors to design and implement digital solutions.
