Position Overview:

As part of the Base Engine team, you will work on making our already great products even better by focusing on Current Product Quality/Warranty. Work would involve root cause analysis tools, design or process improvements, and driving those issues to resolution in production. It may involve working with the full spectrum of powerhead components. The role would locate the individual within the Base Engine team who are working on new product, but who have the history with the development of our current products to consult with as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Investigate issues and determine best path of resolution from multiple ideas. Estimate costs and benefits and execute validation plans for implementation of improvements.
  • Work with cross functional teams by embracing collaboration and interaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation through strategic decision making and comprehensive risk assessment.
  • Lead detailed planning, mechanical design, analysis, and production release activities to meet challenging requirements.
  • Challenge legacy solutions and introduce innovative, manufacturable designs.


Required Qualifications:
  • BSME with 10 yrs experience in engine design or engine related field to exhibit deep, technical, powerhead component or powerhead system-level expertise.
  • Experience using DFSS problem solving tools and track record of generating and implementing viable creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, grinding, balancing, and assembly.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with a wide range of powerhead component development/design and their manufacture.
  • Strong communication and investigative skills using DFSS problem solving tools.
  • Experience with component-level and product-level validation testing.

The anticipated pay range for this position is 103,200 - 144,000annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
