Position Overview

As a Balance Sheet Specialist within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in either Pittsburgh, PA or Delaware, supporting key balance sheet management and financial operations activities.

PNC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Balance Sheet Specialist to join the ALM Valuations team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the valuation, financial reporting, risk analysis, and governance of Commercial Mortgage Servicing Rights (CMSR), a significant balance sheet asset tied to the servicing of commercial real estate loans.

The successful candidate will leverage strong financial modeling, accounting, and data analytics skills to evaluate the performance and fair value of CMSR assets, support regulatory and management reporting, and identify emerging trends and risks within the commercial real estate portfolio. Responsibilities include performing valuation analyses, preparing journal entries and balance sheet reporting, monitoring portfolio performance, conducting P&L attribution analysis, and supporting key business decisions related to servicing rights acquisitions and bidding activities.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with business partners, valuation experts, technology teams, external vendors, and senior stakeholders to enhance valuation methodologies, automate reporting processes, and strengthen model governance practices. The role also contributes to model monitoring, back-testing, documentation, and interactions with risk management, audit, and regulatory partners. Candidates will have the opportunity to expand their expertise across additional ALM Valuations functions, including Residential Mortgage Servicing Rights (RMSR) Valuations and Price Testing.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in finance, accounting, valuation, and financial reporting, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis. Familiarity with tools such as Hyperion, Essbase, Oracle, Python, or VBA is a plus. This role is well-suited for professionals seeking exposure to complex balance sheet management, valuation analytics, and strategic decision-making within a large financial institution.

Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with experience in financial reporting, financial modeling, and data analysis. Familiarity with Hyperion, Essbase, Oracle, Python, or VBA is beneficial but not required.

This role may be located in Pittsburgh, PA, or Delaware and requires employees to work on-site five days per week.

PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. We encourage candidates to connect with their recruiter and hiring manager to understand workplace expectations and ensure the role aligns with their goals.
