Full Job Description

Who’ll you be joining:
Our Hardware Team is made up of engineers with a wide variety of specialties, skill sets, backgrounds, and experiences ranging from HVAC control to RF design, digital logic, avionics, test fixtures, embedded software development, PCB layout and power electronics. They aim to bring their wide experience to the cross-functional squads that they are a part of, with a focus on collaboration, learning, development.

As an Associate Verification Engineer, you will be at the forefront of validating and delivering high-reliability products and test systems for next-generation hardware. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across electrical, mechanical, RF, and software domains. You’ll own the full lifecycle in executing complex test systems—from concept and design to automation and compliance—ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and regulatory readiness.

This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring four days per week in the office to support collaboration, and flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.

How you’ll make an impact:

Verification Testing

  • Execute design verification tests on pre-production hardware using oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, thermal chambers, and data loggers
  • Modify hardware to facilitate verification testing to measure current consumption, voltage ripple, etc. under specific verification test cases
  • Validate signal integrity and timing of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, SDIO) using oscilloscopes, decoders, logic analyzers
  • Perform hardware verification testing under changing environmental test conditions by creating custom thermal test profiles
  • Record results, annotate screenshots, summarize findings, and create clear documentation for peer-reviewable reports
  • Host meetings to summarize results, escalate blockers, and request support when needed
  • Provide engineering judgement to conceptualize, design, and propose verification test cases

Test Development & Automation

  • Document standardized test procedures to facilitate rapid testing and development
  • Interface several test instrumentation systems and setup acquisition equipment for overnight testing
  • Create Python scripts to interface with test equipment via SCPI commands, compile, align, analyze data, and generate plots
  • Develop basic Linux shell scripts to evaluate stress hardware and collect metrics for long-term tests
  • Import example application code for new hardware evaluation modules, modify C code to configure basic settings to ensure hardware is in specific operational modes

Hardware Development

  • Modify and rework pre-production samples as needed to support verification testing by changing component values, fly-wiring design corrections, etc.
  • Read and interpret datasheets, understand component specifications, compare and contrast results to verification tests
  • Support evaluating and testing prototype circuits for new products
  • With the help of senior engineers, complete the schematic capture and layout for basic circuits
  • Perform SMT assembly using stencils and reflow equipment for low component count and fine pitch circuit boards

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test Fixtures) to expose design problems and determine root cause
  • Author clear and concise requests or instruction sets for other teams to implement a specific set of requirements
  • Create block diagrams and documentation that communicates verification test design implementation
  • Track and communicate test progress, risks, and summarize key findings
