Your New Role... CNN is hiring an Associate Producer for its new streaming service.
The AP position will support production staff with editing clip-based content for VOD. Assignments include video creation of daily news videos or evergreen content. The AP must demonstrate strong editorial judgment, a visual eye for compelling video content suitable to various platforms, and proficiency in social media. The AP is also expected to adhere to defined editorial and journalistic standards.
Your Role Accountabilities... - Supports day-to-day production operations across the team, including logistics, research, and editorial prep.
- Demonstrates growing editorial judgment
- Help shape story treatments that reflect strong editorial instincts and have platform relevance.
- Support producers in the creative development, research, pre-production and post workflows for assigned stories
- Support the development and treatment of stories with the guidance of producers
- Logs footage, pulls selects, and assists in fact-checking or sourcing media.
- Organizes production elements such as scripts, graphics, b-roll, music, and assets for easy team access.
- Supports on-set or remote shoots by handling gear, slating, taking notes, or assisting talent.
- Participate actively in edit reviews and publishing processed with an understanding of tone, pacing and platform needs
- Ensure content complies with legal, rights, and editorial standards
- Remain engaged with Platform trends and audience behavior to inform content decisions
- Assists producers and editors in pre-production, production, and post-production tasks as needed.
- The Associate Producer fulfills these responsibilities by utilizing demonstrable technical, editorial, and creative expertise in editing, producing, design and compositing skills, and visual effects. Assignments will be completed under production deadlines, requiring flexibility with schedule/working hours.
Qualifications & Experience... - Typically 1 to 3 or more years of experience of related experience in a digital newsroom
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, technical production, or relevant professional work experience.
- Basic understanding of news
- Sound editorial judgment, with emerging sense of what makes a story distinct, engaging
- Strong writing skills for visual storytelling
- Ability to manage timelines and stay detail-oriented across concurrent assignments
- Clear communicator and proactive team contributor.
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and build a foundation in editorial production.
- Ability to work under deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate basic camera/audio, assemble rough cuts, apply simple graphics, use CMS and asset tools, understand basic platform metrics
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $57,963.00 - $107,646.00 salary per year.
