About the RoleWe are hiring an Associate onto our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team to grow our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses across Canada. About half of your time will focus on Retail, the category with the most headroom in our business. Rather than owning a single category, you will support three growth levers across all of New Verticals: search, customer relationship management (CRM) and catalog quality. You will identify where customers can't find what they're looking for on-platform, flag or fix hygiene issues in the customer experience, and build the dashboards that tell us where to look next. You will partner with marketing, product and merchant teams to turn those insights into campaigns and experiments. This role requires a mix of hard and soft skills: data analysis & visualization, business intelligence, project management and stakeholder management. The right candidate is extremely detail-oriented, organized and comfortable working through large datasets to find the ground truth. You will use AI to work faster and make better decisions. We operate in a hybrid model: we prioritize getting our teams together in person once a quarter, and you have the flexibility to work from home or the office on most days! You are required to be based in Toronto or Vancouver and will overlap with cross-functional stakeholders across North America. You will report into a Senior Manager on the team and be an individual contributor.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...- Analyze. You'll dig into search, catalog and customer data to find the ground truth, and build dashboards that turn it into clear priorities
- Build. You'll have your fingerprints on how customers shop DoorDash's next big businesses: what they search for, what drives their behaviour, and how to use the tools at your disposal to create a smooth path to purchase. This means everything from planning to nitty-gritty operational details
- Experiment. Launch on-platform tests and consult on CRM campaigns, read the results, and scale what works. Embrace the challenge of having multiple paths forward and no right answer
- Collaborate. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, CRM, product, merchant strategy & operations, account management, analytics and so many more!
We're excited about you because...- You like data. You let data win arguments, and you're comfortable pulling and modeling large datasets. You are excited to use (or learn) SQL in your role
- You sweat the details. You can work through thousands of rows of catalog or search data without losing the thread, and you catch the error others miss
- You're an operator. You turn direction into action, own your deliverables to deadline, and convert insights into repeatable processes
- You're curious about how people shop. You have a point of view on what makes a shopping experience easy or frustrating, online or in-store
- You're unafraid of uncharted territory. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you excel in new environments
- You use AI to work smarter. You use (or are eager to learn) tools like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to speed up analysis and workflows
- You have 1-3+ years of experience in operations, technology, consulting, strategy, business development, banking, analytics, e-commerce, high-growth or early-stage startup experience or related experience
- You have a completed Bachelor's Degree
