Full Job Description
Work Flexibility: Onsite

Stryker is seeking a Manager, Engineering - Custom Implant Design in Ventura, CA to lead a sizable team responsible for designing patient-specific temporomandibular joint (TMJ) implants. TMJ Concepts implants change patients' lives by restoring form and function to their jaw joint. In this role, you will oversee designers who define implant geometry and fixation features within established design parameters to meet customer and clinical requirements. You will also lead project execution, support team development, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of implant designers, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee custom implant design projects to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Review and guide design activities to ensure implant geometry and fixation features align with established design parameters and customer specifications.
  • Manage project plans, resource allocation, and staffing needs to support business objectives and customer timelines.
  • Resolve technical, operational, and personnel-related issues by evaluating options and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial functions to execute project and business initiatives.
  • Participate in customer-focused design activities and feedback discussions to support product and process improvements.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, and cost tracking activities for the team's areas of responsibility.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, quality, and team effectiveness.


What You Need:

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher required; in Engineering or applicable technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, product design, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of people leadership, team lead, or direct management experience.

Preferred:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product design and design for manufacturing.
  • Experience using CAD software for product or component design.
  • Experience leading technical projects involving planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Experience supporting employee development, coaching, or performance management activities.


US10: $112,900 - $188,100 USD Annual
