The Impact you will have in this role:

You will lead the team responsible for engineering and supporting the firm's Linux platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll manage a team of engineers while remaining actively involved in platform design, automation, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.

You'll be responsible for Linux operating system standards, platform automation, modernization, observability, operating system lifecycle management, and Linux platform engineering across on-premises and cloud environments. You'll work closely with Security, Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Risk, Audit, and Application Development teams to ensure the platform remains secure, reliable, scalable, and easy to consume.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Linux platform engineers responsible for the design, delivery, and support of enterprise Linux services.
  • Set technical direction for Linux platform standards, operating system architecture, and engineering practices.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex Linux platform issues.
  • Make technical decisions that improve platform reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Continue the evolution of our automation-first operating model.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Ansible and related technologies.
  • Eliminate manual processes through automation and self-service capabilities.
  • Ensure configuration consistency through automated validation, drift detection, and remediation.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational toil and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Own Linux image creation, packaging, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and immutable infrastructure practices.
  • Integrate operating system engineering into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve the speed, consistency, and reliability of Linux platform deployments.
  • Establish standards that support repeatable and automated platform delivery.
  • Work closely with Security, Risk, Audit, Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Application Development teams.
  • Support audit and regulatory requirements through engineering solutions and automation.
  • Ensure Linux platforms integrate securely with identity, authentication, and secrets-management services.
  • Participate in major platform modernization and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in platform stability, resilience, and recoverability.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for significant incidents.
  • Ensure Linux services are observable, supportable, and backed by meaningful monitoring and alerting.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and resiliency testing.
  • Help establish operational standards that improve service reliability.
