The Role
In this role, you will support the local generation and adaptation of data, evidence and key HEOR deliverables for Moderna products supporting pricing and reimbursement, vaccine recommendations, tender and contracting and institutional customer engagement in Canada.
This role leads local HEOR evidence generation and adaptation activities in Canada and provides strategic oversight of external research partners supporting economic modelling, evidence synthesis, value assessment, vaccine recommendation, and pricing activities. The Associate Director HEOR will drive the execution of evidence generation and communication plans and develop tailored evidence partnerships to address stakeholder needs. They will work on launch vaccines and pipeline products in close collaboration with Market Access and Pricing, Marketing, Clinical Development and Medical colleagues. This position reports to the Executive Director, Global HEOR with dotted line to the local Market Access Director.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Lead the development and execution of local HEOR strategies, evidence generation activities, and key deliverables (e.g., Value Dossier) to demonstrate the value of Moderna’s products incl. vaccines to support reimbursement, market access, vaccine recommendations, tender and contracting and successful institutional customer engagement
Communicate HEOR evidence effectively as part of NITAG/HTA submissions, vaccine recommendation processes and pricing negotiations
Represent HEOR on Medical, Market Access and Pricing, and Commercial cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert on payer product value proposition and HEOR scientific evidence, and align HEOR initiatives with the business needs
Represent HEOR in early scientific engagement, benefit assessment and vaccine recommendation processes
Drive local and contribute to global HEOR program and study design execution
Identify and communicate local HEOR evidence requirements and gaps
Partner with cross-functional and global teams to develop the communication materials for HEOR data, including value dossiers and other payer relevant communication content
Develop and deliver data and data visualization as part of the omnichannel engagement of institutional customers
Manage external research vendors and consultants to deliver results
Lead localization and de novo development of HEOR studies and economic models
Support Real-World Evidence (RWE) and economic modelling strategies that support successful benefit assessments, vaccine recommendation, pricing and patient access at country level
Provide local HEOR input into strategic planning processes and decision gates
Develop HEOR content and tools to support payer and stakeholder engagement
Lead and execute HEOR publication plans
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Ph.D., Sc.D. or Dr.P.H.; advanced degree in life sciences OR a Clinical degree (e.g., in medicine, pharmacy, nursing) and a master’s degree in a related discipline (as noted above)
5+ years of progressive excellence in HEOR within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccines or healthcare industry
As part of Moderna’s commitment to build a sustainable workforce, a minimum of 2 years of work authorization is required for this role
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
7+ years of experience within the biopharmaceutical, vaccines, or healthcare industry
Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, reimbursement pathways, public health decision-making, and NITAG/HTA processes, including NACI
Experience generating payer- and public health-relevant evidence, including real-world evidence and economic models
Experience developing value dossiers, tender submissions, and materials supporting vaccine recommendations and reimbursement decisions
Strong knowledge of HEOR methodologies, evidence-based medicine, patient-reported outcomes, and data analytics
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal and external stakeholders without direct authority
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex data and insights effectively through visualization and storytelling
Experience managing external vendors, consultants, and research partners
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment with strong attention to detail and execution
