Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Financial Systems Service Delivery is responsible for the strategic management, optimization, and ongoing service delivery of the organization's financial systems and technology infrastructure - with NetSuite serving as the core ERP platform - including NetSuite financial reporting and analytics, expense management systems, and related finance technology applications. This role sits at the intersection of finance and technology, serving as the primary owner and lead administrator of the NetSuite environment and the key liaison between Finance, IT, NetSuite (Oracle), and external implementation partners. The Associate Director ensures that NetSuite and connected financial systems are configured, maintained, and continuously improved to support accurate financial reporting, scalable accounting operations, and strong internal controls. Beyond system administration, this individual is responsible for delivering a high standard of financial systems service to internal Finance users - establishing support processes, training frameworks, and governance models that enable the Finance team to operate with efficiency, confidence, and data integrity across all platforms.

Work Arrangement & Location:

Hybrid - This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of two (2) days on-site per week - currently designated as Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional on-site days may be required based on business needs, team priorities, or leadership direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own and administer the organization's NetSuite ERP environment as the system of record - including core financials, subsidiary/OneWorld structure, segments and classifications, SuiteApps, and integrated finance applications (financial reporting, expense management, procurement) - ensuring all systems are properly configured, maintained, and operating at peak performance.
  • Lead the financial systems service delivery function - establishing and managing user support processes, NetSuite role and permission governance, issue resolution workflows, and service level standards that ensure Finance team members receive timely, effective support across all platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement of NetSuite and connected systems - leveraging SuiteFlow workflows, SuiteScript customizations, saved searches, and SuiteAnalytics to automate manual processes, enhance configurations, improve reporting capabilities, and optimize workflows that improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting and finance operations.
  • Manage user provisioning across all financial systems, facilitating appropriate segregation of duties, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation to support SOX compliance.
  • Coordinate NetSuite implementations, module rollouts, and enhancements, and govern the twice-yearly NetSuite release cycle - leading project planning, requirements gathering, sandbox configuration, regression and user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live support for all financial technology projects in partnership with IT and external NetSuite partners.
  • Develop and maintain a robust financial systems controls environment - designing and enforcing NetSuite role-based access controls, segregation of duties frameworks, audit trail and change management practices, and IT general controls (ITGCs) that support SOX compliance and internal audit requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for NetSuite (Oracle), SuiteApp providers, and implementation partners - managing contracts, license and user counts, service level agreements, product roadmaps, and support escalations to ensure vendor performance and platform reliability.
  • Build and deliver NetSuite training programs and documentation - developing user guides, training materials, and onboarding resources that enable Finance team members to use financial systems effectively and consistently across the organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field required. Master's degree or MBA is a plus. NetSuite certification (SuiteFoundation, Certified Administrator, or Certified ERP Consultant) strongly preferred; CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in financial systems administration, ERP management, or finance technology roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead capacity administering NetSuite preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite implementation, configuration, and optimization required - including core financials, saved searches and reporting, SuiteFlow, and role/permission design. Experience with NetSuite OneWorld, Advanced Revenue Management, SuiteBilling, or Fixed Assets Management is a plus.
  • Experience in a life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
  • Deep expertise in NetSuite administration and configuration - including chart of accounts and segment design, subsidiary/OneWorld setup, financial report and saved search building, SuiteFlow workflow automation, SuiteScript customization oversight, form and field customization, and role-based user access management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems controls within NetSuite - including IT general controls (ITGCs), segregation of duties frameworks, role and permission governance, audit trail monitoring, and sandbox-to-production change management applicable to SOX-compliant environments.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and BI tools - including NetSuite SuiteAnalytics, Analytics Workbook, and the SuiteAnalytics Connect / ODBC data source, along with Tableau or Power BI - with experience building and maintaining financial dashboards, automated reports, and self-service reporting environments for Finance users.
  • Strong project management capabilities - demonstrated track record of leading NetSuite implementations, module rollouts, and finance technology projects on time and within scope, managing competing priorities and cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
  • Collaborative cross-functional partner - builds productive working relationships with Finance, IT, Internal Audit, and external NetSuite partners; effectively bridges the language gap between technical system capabilities and Finance operational requirements.
  • Effective technical communicator - able to translate complex NetSuite configurations, ITGC requirements, and financial technology concepts into clear, accessible language for Finance users, IT partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Skilled in developing user-facing NetSuite training materials, system documentation, and process guides that improve Finance team self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on manual workarounds.
  • Strong vendor relationship communicator - manages external vendor relationships with clarity, accountability, and professionalism; articulates system requirements, escalates issues effectively, and holds partners to documented service commitments.
