Full Job Description
The Role

IcyBox is looking for a Head of Finance to own the financial backbone of a fast-moving, high-growth consumer business. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and knows how to build financial infrastructure and rigor across a complex, fast-changing organization. You'll be the connective tissue between leadership, marketing, operations, and the numbers behind every decision, owning forecasting, reporting, cash management, and the financial discipline that lets the company scale without losing control of its unit economics.

You'll help build the financial foundation that lets IcyBox scale from a fast-moving watch commerce and mystery box business into a durable consumer brand. This role is ideal for someone who is analytically sharp, operationally strong, and energized by being close to the center of the business. You'll get exposure to strategic decisions, company-building problems, and cross-functional execution from day one, with the autonomy to identify what needs to happen and drive it forward yourself.

This is not a purely back-office role. It's a builder/operator role for someone who can move from a P&L model to a board deck to a vendor negotiation to a cash flow forecast without losing momentum. Some days you'll be closing the books. Some days you'll be stress-testing CAC payback across paid channels. Some days you'll be building a system that makes the company sharper every week after you're done.

What You'll Do
  • Own company-wide financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling across marketing, operations, and product spend.
  • Build and maintain the financial infrastructure (reporting, dashboards, close processes) needed as the company scales past its current size.
  • Partner directly with leadership on unit economics, including CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and payback period across acquisition channels.
  • Own cash flow management and runway planning, flagging risk before it becomes a problem.
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all financial reporting.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between finance and the rest of the company, surfacing tradeoffs, clarifying tradeoffs on spend, and keeping financial discipline tight without slowing the business down.
  • Support fundraising and investor relations workstreams, including data rooms, board materials, and financial narrative.
  • Build lightweight reporting and financial dashboards that help the team understand what's working, what's burning cash, and what needs attention now.
  • Own or support vendor, banking, and financial partner relationships, including negotiation, terms, and renewals.
  • Step into urgent or high-priority financial questions when the owner is unclear, and create a path to resolution.
  • Create documentation, models, and financial playbooks that make repeatable work easier as IcyBox scales.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or a similarly demanding analytical environment, ideally with startup or high-growth exposure.
  • A track record of building financial infrastructure and rigor in ambiguous, fast-moving environments without needing a detailed playbook.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort building a financial model or business case from scratch using imperfect information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to synthesize complexity and present it simply to founders, leadership, and investors.
  • High ownership and strong follow-through, you're the person who makes sure the numbers are right and the deadlines are hit.
  • Low ego and strong relationship instincts. You influence through clarity, trust, and execution rather than title.
  • Strong organizational systems and attention to detail, especially across multiple parallel workstreams and reporting cycles.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the answer isn't always obvious.
  • Genuine curiosity about consumer brands, watches, marketplaces, paid growth, and how a high-growth company actually works financially.
  • Willingness to do both strategic and unglamorous work, from building a model to chasing down a reconciliation.

Nice to Have
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or consumer company.
  • Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, luxury goods, watches, collectibles, or consumer apps.
  • Familiarity with financial and operating tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, spreadsheets, BI dashboards, or lightweight automation.
  • Experience supporting founders, executives, or a board directly.

Why This Role Matters

IcyBox is moving quickly across product, marketing, operations, sourcing, fulfillment, and customer experience. As the company grows, so does the complexity of the financial decisions underneath it. The Head of Finance will help create the structure, rigor, and visibility that let the team move faster without losing control of the numbers. This person will be trusted with high-priority work, exposed to the full business, and expected to make IcyBox more financially sound every single week.
