Job Description SummaryThis position provides leadership and support in managing division operations and instructional programming across the Fox Valley Technical College District, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities. The Associate Dean directly supervises multiple instructional departments, programs, and related staff within the division and serves as a key resource and backup to the Division Dean.
Job DescriptionEssential Functions and Responsibilities The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Academic Program & Curriculum Leadership- Provide leadership for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of instructional programs.
- Coordinate instructional programming and curriculum across assigned areas.
- Oversee curriculum development, modification, and documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
- Lead the investigation and development of new programs in response to workforce and community needs.
- Coordinate shared degree programs, articulation agreements, and academic partnerships with other institutions.
Division Planning, Budgeting & Resource Management- Assist with division strategic planning and operational priorities.
- Develop, manage, and monitor assigned budgets and resources.
- Support planning and evaluation related to facilities, technology, equipment, and instructional resources.
- Participate in long-range planning to support division growth and operational effectiveness.
Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including enrollment, FTE production, student success, graduate outcomes, program health and vitality, workload, contract training performance, and financial results.
- Assess program performance and sustainability to identify opportunities for growth, improvement, and alignment with workforce and community needs.
- Use data to support decision-making, resource allocation, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Instructional Delivery & Operations- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of flexible and alternative instructional delivery methods.
- Ensure consistency and quality of instructional delivery across campuses and regional centers.
- Coordinate continuing education programming and assigned contract training services.
- Support instructional scheduling, program operations, and delivery across the division.
Personnel Leadership & Team Development- Hire, supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate assigned faculty and staff.
- Provide leadership to functional and cross-functional teams and projects.
- Foster employee engagement, collaboration, and professional development.
- Support effective communication and alignment across departments and teams.
Industry & Community Partnerships- Promote and maintain strong partnerships with industry, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with industry and institutional leaders to ensure the relevance and currency of academic programs and workforce training.
- Develop new partnerships that support innovative educational opportunities and workforce solutions.
- Represent the College in industry, community, and workforce development initiatives.
- Develop grants, projects, and corporate partnerships that support program enhancement and growth.
Division Leadership & Continuous Improvement- Serve as a member of the Division Leadership Team and assist with overall division management.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including enrollment, productivity, workload, program performance, and financial outcomes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and well-documented project implementation.
- Serve as a resource and support division leadership in achieving strategic and operational goals.
Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Serve as a division liaison to Student Services regarding program admissions, enrollment, and graduation, involving department chairs and faculty as appropriate.
- Implement and support academic advising of program students.
- Address student issues as appropriate.
- Provide direction for the development and maintenance of active advisory committees for assigned programs, addressing district policy requirements.
- Develop and maintain community linkages appropriate to the role of associate dean.
- Participate on institutional committees, projects, task forces, etc. as appropriate.
- Promote involvement of students and staff in co-curricular student organizations.
Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in a related field or educational administration is required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in a professional setting is required. Three years of managerial supervisory experience at the community/technical college level is preferred.
- Two years of teaching experience is required, preferably at the community/technical college level.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements: - Subject to FVTC's Motor Vehicle Records Disclosure Check.

- Work is primarily conducted in office and meeting settings across various college locations.•
- Regular interaction with faculty, staff, students, industry partners, and community stakeholders is required.•
- Frequent participation in meetings, events, and activities both on and off campus is expected.•
- Occasional travel within and outside the College's district, including throughout the state of Wisconsin, may be required to support partnerships and activities with business, industry, community, and educational organizations.•
- Work may involve periodic evening or weekend commitments to support College, community, and industry events. .
Work environment may change based upon college needs. Physical Requirements - Sitting: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working at a computer, participating in virtual meetings, and performing administrative and leadership responsibilities.
- Mobility: Frequent movement throughout campus locations is required to attend meetings, visit classrooms and labs, participate in events, and engage with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Standing and Walking: The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods while attending meetings, conducting campus visits, participating in events, and representing the College at internal and external functions.
- Fine Motor Skills: Requires manual dexterity and precise hand movements for activities such as typing, writing, operating computers and mobile devices, and using office technology.
- Repetitive Motions: Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as keyboarding, mouse use, and document review for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required to effectively interact with students, employees, business and industry representatives, community members, and other stakeholders in person, virtually, and through electronic communications.
- Vision: Ability to read printed and electronic documents, analyze data, review reports, and use computer systems for extended periods.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting, carrying, and transporting of light materials and equipment up to 20 pounds, such as laptops, presentation materials, meeting supplies, and training resources.
- Driving and Travel: Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel to campus locations, regional centers, business and industry partners, educational institutions, and community events throughout and beyond the College district as needed.
- Other: The position may require occasional attendance at evening or weekend meetings, events, and activities in support of College operations, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.
Additional InformationStarting Range: $109,100 - $128,300 per year.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
