Overview

The AVP of Operations leads the strategic and day-to-day operational functions of the hospital to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance. They will exercise management oversight for the development of high quality and cost-effective programs for the following areas of the Northeast including Radiology, Pharmacy and Laboratory. Ensures contracted services such as EVS, F+N, and Transport KPl's are exceeding targets while maintaining quality and customer experience goals. This position will have responsibility for ensuring efficient services are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians and staff across the region. This role partners with the other leaders to drive sustainable growth, improve margins, and deliver exceptional operational results.

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and people management: transformative leadership, coaching, cross-functional collaboration.

2. Operational excellence: patient flow optimization, throughput, capacity planning, demand forecasting.

3. Financial acumen: budgeting, cost management, revenue cycle understanding, capital planning.

4. Quality and safety focus: data-driven improvement, risk mitigation, accreditation readiness.

5. Communication: clear, persuasive communication with clinicians, staff, and external partners.

6. Technology fluency: EMR systems, Bl tools, scheduling and bed-management platforms.

7. Change management: leading complex initiatives across diverse teams.

8. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related discipline required; PharmD strongly preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive hospital operations leadership experience, preferably within an academic medical center or integrated health system.
  • Experience leading complex ancillary services, including Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, and/or related clinical support functions.
  • Demonstrated success in operational excellence, financial management, strategic planning, and service line growth.

Preferred
  • Executive leadership experience overseeing Pharmacy operations.
  • Experience leading Laboratory and/or Radiology services in addition to Pharmacy.
  • Multi-site or regional academic health system leadership experience.
