Full Job Description
Description
Princeton University's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position in Ecology, Evolution and/or Behavior. We seek a scholar who is eager to interact with a vibrant and interdisciplinary group of colleagues both inside and outside the department. The successful candidate will address bold questions through a rigorous, creative, and integrative research program. The range of potential research areas should be understood broadly. We are excited to consider applicants focused on any timescale or level of biological hierarchy and employing any methodological approach.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Application Instructions
Applicants should submit a vision statement, no longer than two pages, that outlines the bold question(s) they would pursue within their first 5 years and that places those questions broadly in the context of major unsolved problems in their field(s). In this respect, the vision statement should draw on, yet go beyond, a summary of the applicant's prior and current research. In addition to the vision statement, applications need to include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, three papers or preprints, and three letters of recommendation.
Application review will begin on November 10, 2026.
