Job Overview
The Assistant Divisional Controller will support the VP of Finance and leadership team in managing the financial reporting, analysis, controls, and operational accounting activities of the division. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working deep in the numbers, and ready to grow into a larger leadership role.
The successful candidate will be expected to understand the details behind financial results, identify issues and opportunities, improve processes, and provide meaningful insight to business leaders. This position requires someone who can balance hands-on accounting work with broader financial analysis, business partnering, and leadership development.

Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the division.
- Review financial results for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheet accounts, cash flow items, and key performance indicators.
- Investigate variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods, and provide clear explanations to management.
- Assist with preparation of divisional financial reporting packages.
- Ensure financial results are supported by appropriate detail and documentation.
Operational Accounting and Controls
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and other close-related activities.
- Help ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.
- Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, or reporting inconsistencies and recommend improvements.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
Business Partnership
- Work closely with operations, sales, project management, and other business functions to understand business performance.
- Provide financial insight into revenue, margins, cost structure, and working capital.
- Help business leaders understand the financial impact of operational decisions.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning activities.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis to support divisional and executive decision-making.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Help standardize financial processes across the division.
- Support system, reporting, and automation improvements.
- Develop tools and analyses that improve visibility into business performance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.
Leadership and Development
- Serve as a key support role to the VP of Finance.
- Act as a resource for accounting and finance team members.
- Take ownership of assigned areas and demonstrate readiness for increased responsibility.
- Help develop strong communication between finance and operations.
- Build the skills and business understanding necessary to step into a broader controllership or finance leadership role over time.

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the VP of Finance and will work closely with divisional operations, corporate finance, accounting, and business leadership teams.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Good accounting knowledge and financial analysis capability.
- Solid understanding of IFRS15 / ASC 606
Experience
- Experience with monthly close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ability to investigate details, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Recently qualified or progressing towards a professional accounting certification.
- Experience in manufacturing, aftermarket, and multi-site operations.
- Experience supporting audits, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
Physical Demands

- Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.

Work Environment
Work primarily in global office environments at Company and customer sites as well as shop environments as needed.
