The RoleWe are looking for an Assistant Controller / Finance Manager to serve as the right hand to our finance lead and own day-to-day accounting operations. You will manage the close process, strengthen our controls and reporting, and partner across the business on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This is a hands-on role with significant room to grow as the
company and finance team expand.
What You'll Do- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and support management reporting packages for leadership and investors.
- Manage core accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger integrity.
- Build, document, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable processes that support a growing business.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, partnering with department leaders to track spend and inform decisions.
- Coordinate the annual audit and tax filings, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
- Oversee cash management, including reconciliations, treasury reporting, and cash-flow forecasting.
- Help select, implement, and optimize accounting and finance systems as we scale.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements across jurisdictions.
What We're Looking For- 4-6 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally combining public accounting and in-house/industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA (or active candidacy) strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the full-cycle close process.
- Experience owning or heavily contributing to month-end close, financial reporting, and
reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and rolling up your sleeves.
Nice to Have- Experience at a startup, health-tech, manufacturing, or D2C/e-commerce company.
- Exposure to inventory or cost accounting in a physical-product business.
- Experience implementing or upgrading ERP and finance systems.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year, plus equity.
Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and overall fit. In addition to base
