SUMMARYThe Aquatic Supervisor connects people to recreational opportunities that meet demonstrated community needs and align with the city's strategic priorities. Develops and administers recreation programs. Facilitates guest utilization of recreational amenities. Supervises facility personnel, lifeguards, headguards, PICs, swim instructors, and water fitness instructors, and assists with supervision of aquatic staff at Pirates Cove Waterpark during the summer season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe listed examples of work are not intended to be all-inclusive. They may be modified with additions, deletions, or changes as necessary.
- Participates in departmental planning of programs and activities that meet community recreation needs. Develops, coordinates, and evaluates recreation programs offered primarily in community recreation centers. Initiates change to creatively address the needs of the public. Manages revenue and expense in assigned area to align with departmental strategic and fiscal goals.
- Selects, hires, trains, schedules and evaluates Englewood Aquatics staff. Works collaboratively with the facility supervisory team to select, hire, schedule, train, and evaluate aquatic staff.
- Assists marketing team to drive customer engagement and awareness in order to increase facility and program participation. Develops, implements marketing program strategies.
- Researches and recommends purchase of equipment and supplies for assigned program areas.
- Supervises and inspects recreation areas and facilities to ensure responsible and safe use of equipment.
- Develops and monitors the facility and program budget in assigned areas. Establishes and implements financial control and accountability
- Supports the recreation software system. Supports staff with training and troubleshooting. Works closely with the Process Improvement Specialist Information aspects of the recreation management software.
- Develops effective working relationships with volunteers, citizen groups and other organizations.
- Serves as Person in Charge at the facility during assigned hours.
- Summer season requires working weekends and holidays.
- May participate in cross-departmental committees or task forces.
- Assists in planning and development of both facility-specific and community-wide special events.
- May identify additional funding sources, write grant applications and administer grants awarded.

Other Duties & Responsibilities- Manages with the assistance of the Aquatic Manager, Englewood Rec Center Aquatics staff which includes PICs, Headguards, lifeguards, learn to swim instructors, and water fitness instructors.
- Works with the Aquatics Team on maintaining a safe, clean and conducive aquatic environment.
- Relays information to the Aquatic Manager of items needing attention.
- Stays in tune of future aquatic trends and programming ideas and maintains Aquatic certifications.
- Maintains Ellis & Assoc. ILTP license along with Instructor of ILTP license. Instructs ILTP classes periodically along with monthly in-services.
- Maintains Red Cross swim lesson instructor license. Instructs monthly swim instructor inservices.
- Markets, schedules and coordinates pool rentals, birthday parties and day camps.
- Markets all Pirates Cove aquatics programs through the various means available to the department.
- Assists the Recreation Aquatics Supervisor on the training of lifeguards and assist PICs for in-service trainings.
- Assists with coordination and scheduling the training of CPR/AED for the Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf Department staff to include periodic in-service trainings and scenarios.
EDUCATION- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Public Administration, or related field
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the operation of an aquatic recreation facility including budgeting and supervision.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, or CERTIFICATIONS- First Aid, CPR/AED; Ellis & Assoc. ILTP, Ellis & Assoc. ILTP instructor, AFO or CPO, able to obtain certifications within 6 months of hire
- Required Driver's License: Valid Colorado driver's license and a clear or acceptable MVR

Skills and Abilities- Computer Skills - Intermediate skills needed to work with registration software, prefer RecTrac, Excel, asset management, scheduling software prefer When to Work, aquatic manager software prefer Digiquatics.
- Communication - Strong customer services skills required to interact with guests, handling questions, problems and complaints. Strong communication skills needed to coordinate and direct the activities of personnel.
- Analytical - Strong skills needed to evaluate the functioning of the facility and programs.
- Mechanical - Basic skills needed to make simple repairs and complete set-up for programs and events. Must be able to operate a variety of recreational/aquatic equipment.
- Project Management - Strong skills needed to develop long-range plans and coordinate programs.
- General Management - Intermediate skills needed for budget management, recommending and implementing policies and procedures. Supervision of multiple staff and volunteers.
- Mathematical - Strong skills needed to develop, manage, and supervise multiple budgets.
