The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) for the full-time academic faculty position of Specialist to join the clinical service, composed of surgeons, advanced practice providers and plastic surgery residents.

Qualified individuals will have completed an approved advanced graduated nurse or physician assistant program and must be licensed in Texas.

The position serves as a pivotal team member on the inpatient service at University Hospital and the UT Multispecialty and Research Hospital and will have dedicated outpatient clinics at University Hospital as well as UT Clinics. This individual manages patients in the perioperative period, providing continuity of care and is the contact person for consultants as well as participating in multidisciplinary care management. This individual will assist the service in its growth by creating and fostering important relationships with various services. The job is particularly varied, and the successful applicant will be encouraged to foster their own interests within plastic surgery. There are opportunities in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, trauma and elective cases, and clinic and hospital-based practice.
