About Northern Trust

Northern Trust's Private Capital Administration (PCA) team delivers administration, accounting, and investor servicing solutions to private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other alternative investment clients. As our client base continues to evolve, we are expanding our use of Anaplan to support complex management fee calculations, performance fee calculations, and fund waterfall modeling.

Working Model: Hybrid

We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you get the flexibility you need, and the successful candidate will spend their time between working in the office and working from home.

Position Summary

The Anaplan Solutions Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for Anaplan within the Private Capital Administration business. This highly specialized role will partner closely with accounting, operations, and client service teams to design, develop, maintain, and enhance Anaplan models supporting private capital fund administration activities.

The successful candidate will blend financial, analytical, and technology expertise to build scalable solutions for complex fee calculations, fund waterfalls, and client-specific reporting requirements. This role is ideal for candidates with Anaplan experience gained within financial services, consulting, fund administration, or financial systems environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Anaplan subject matter expert for the Private Capital Administration business.
  • Design, build, enhance, and maintain Anaplan models supporting management fee calculations, performance fee calculations, and fund waterfall structures.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Anaplan solutions and system enhancements.
  • Partner with fund accounting, operations, and client servicing teams to automate and optimize complex processes.
  • Support onboarding of new clients with unique fee arrangements, waterfall structures, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure model integrity through testing, validation, documentation, and ongoing governance.
  • Troubleshoot model issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external consultants when required.
  • Provide training and support to end users leveraging Anaplan across the PCA organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience designing, building, or supporting Anaplan solutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, data structures, and systems workflows.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred:

  • Anaplan Model Builder or Solution Architect certification.
  • Experience supporting private equity, private capital, fund administration, investment operations, or alternative investments.
  • Experience with fund waterfalls, carried interest calculations, management fee calculations, or performance fee calculations.
  • Background in management consulting, financial systems implementation, or business process transformation.
  • Experience working with large datasets and complex financial models.

Salary Range:

$74,700 - 126,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
