The
Manager, Analytics & Digital Enablement is responsible for leading the organization's reporting and analytics function while driving the adoption of modern analytics capabilities across the enterprise. This role manages a team of BI analysts and serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and Information Technology to deliver trusted, governed reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
This individual owns the enterprise BI and Analytics platforms, including Microsoft Power BI and TIBCO Spotfire, ensuring the stability, administration, governance, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities. The role partners closely with business leaders to understand priorities, maintain the analytics project backlog, define business requirements, and deliver high-value reporting solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
In addition, this leader champions self-service analytics by enabling citizen developers through governance, coaching, and proof-of-concept support while establishing a structured promotion process that transitions successful business-developed solutions into supported enterprise assets. This role plays a key part in accelerating the company's journey toward becoming a data-driven, technology-enabled enterprise.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalytics Strategy, Platform Administration & Delivery- Lead the enterprise BI and Analytics function, establishing standards, priorities, and delivery processes for analytics and reporting.
- Own the strategy, administration, configuration, and lifecycle management of enterprise reporting and analytics platforms, including Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, and related analytics technologies.
- Administer and maintain Power BI and Spotfire environments, including tenant configuration, workspace and library management, security administration, licensing, gateway administration, capacity management, platform upgrades, and operational support.
- Establish development, testing, and production environments with controlled deployment pipelines and release management processes.
- Develop and enforce governance standards for report development, semantic models, reusable data assets, deployment pipelines, certified reports, and content lifecycle management.
- Monitor platform performance, capacity utilization, availability, and operational health to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable analytics services.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Data Engineering teams to ensure BI platforms comply with enterprise security, identity management, disaster recovery, and data governance standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting capabilities through automation, visualization best practices, KPI standardization, and adoption of emerging analytics platform capabilities.
- Partner with Data Engineering to ensure certified reports are built upon trusted, governed, and scalable enterprise datasets.
Business Partnership & Requirements Management- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics organization for reporting, analytics, and digital enablement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand operational processes, reporting challenges, and strategic objectives.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and requirements gathering activities to define business needs and prioritize initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into clearly defined functional and technical specifications for delivery teams.
- Own and maintain the enterprise analytics project backlog, balancing business priorities, resource capacity, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with project managers, data engineers, AI/Automation team and business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of analytics solutions.
- Provide regular communication regarding project status, priorities, risks, and delivery timelines.
Analytics Governance & Change Management- Own governance processes for enterprise reporting, ensuring certified reports meet standards for quality, consistency, security, usability, and performance.
- Establish and manage change control processes for report enhancements, semantic model updates, data source changes, and production deployments.
- Maintain enterprise reporting documentation, metadata, report catalogs, certification processes, and ownership records.
- Ensure consistent KPI definitions, calculations, and reporting standards across business functions.
- Monitor report usage, adoption, and platform health to identify opportunities for consolidation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Promote enterprise reporting standards that reduce duplication and improve confidence in business metrics.
Citizen Development & Digital Enablement- Champion a governed self-service analytics strategy that empowers business users while maintaining enterprise standards.
- Lead the Analytics Community of Practice comprised of citizen developers to evaluate ideas, collaborate on proof-of-concept dashboards, foster community among data analysts, and provide opportunities for upskilling and career development in digital-facing roles.
- Coach business users on visualization best practices, data modeling concepts, governance requirements, and responsible use of enterprise data.
- Define and manage the promotion process that transitions successful citizen-developed solutions into IT-supported, enterprise-managed applications.
- Establish governance frameworks that encourage innovation while minimizing technical debt, security risks, and operational complexity.
- Promote data literacy and analytics adoption throughout the organization through training, coaching, and best practice guidance.
Leadership & Team Development- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of BI Analysts.
- Establish performance goals, development plans, and technical standards for the analytics team.
- Foster a culture focused on customer service, innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote close collaboration across Data Engineering, AI & Automation, Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, and business functions.
- Drive continuous learning and professional development within the analytics organization.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience- 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise Business Intelligence, analytics, or reporting solutions.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing Business Intelligence, reporting, or analytics teams.
- Proven experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize work, and deliver business value.
- Experience establishing enterprise reporting governance, change management, and analytics standards.
- Oil and gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills & Competencies- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and TIBCO Spotfire, including tenant administration, security, workspace management, libraries, deployment pipelines, gateways, semantic models, licensing, and platform governance.
- Experience administering enterprise BI environments, including user provisioning, capacity planning, monitoring, performance optimization, upgrades, and operational support.
- Strong understanding of Power BI Fabric capabilities, semantic models, deployment pipelines, and enterprise analytics governance is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, semantic modeling, KPI standardization, and enterprise reporting architecture.
- Working knowledge of SQL and modern cloud data platforms, with experience consuming governed datasets from Snowflake or comparable platforms.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and certified reporting practices.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated experience managing multiple competing priorities.
- Passion for enabling responsible self-service analytics and expanding data literacy across the enterprise.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements- Primarily office-based (in office 5x a week) with occasional travel to field offices and operational sites as needed.
- Potential exposure to remote and high-risk environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- May involve walking, climbing, bending, or handling equipment during site visits.
- Possible exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) while on-site at field offices.
- Availability for emergency response and incident management, including after-hours support when required
