OverviewThe Analyst, Litigation Docketing supports the firm's Litigation Department docketing function and is responsible for maintaining an accurate, up-to-date litigation docket so that case events, filing deadlines, and other critical dates are not missed in matters across jurisdictions. This role reports to the Manager, Litigation Docketing and will perform day-to-day docketing using rules-based calendaring software, case search tools, and internet resources. The Analyst also coordinates the distribution of daily and weekly individual dockets and serves as a resource to attorneys and litigation staff on critical dates, judge assignment changes, court closings, changes in court procedures and filing fees, and the firm's internal docketing procedures and policies. Through careful docket management and responsive support on docket-related projects, this position plays a key role in supporting the Litigation Department's operations and protecting the firm against calendaring and procedural risk.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the firm’s Litigation Docket in an up-to-date manner to ensure that case events and/or filing deadlines are not missed using rules based calendaring software and other tools as necessary.
- Coordinate and participate in the distribution of daily and weekly individual dockets to attorneys, paraprofessionals and/or assistants.
- Communicate with attorneys and staff with respect to judge assignment changes and court closings.
- Track critical dates and related details and communicate information with attorneys, paralegals and/or staff, as necessary.
- Communicate and assist litigation staff with questions relating to internal docketing procedures and policies.
- Travel to court and related administrative agencies on a limited basis to process court filings and deliver courtesy copies as necessary.
- Communicate changes in court procedures including changes to fees to attorneys and staff and coordinate with assistants in order to obtain disbursement checks for any court-related filing fees.
- Search cases using the software and internet resources as necessary.
- Perform any other project that is deemed to be docket related.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of litigation docketing experience required.
- Knowledge of court rules and procedures and ability to apply the information to complex questions and filings.
- Familiarity with Litigation docketing software applications (ex: CompuLaw Vision / Milana, eDockets, ProLaw, CourtAlert).

The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
