Position OverviewAs an ALM Director - Balance Sheet Analytics within PNC's Asset Liability Management organization, you can be based in New York, Pittsburgh or Cleveland. This is an individual contributor (non-manager) role.
As an ALM Director in PNC's Chief Investment Office, you will perform a highly technical role supporting balance sheet valuation and interest rate risk management through programming, data engineering, database management, automation, and analytical development. You will maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, and transparency of critical balance sheet processes by owning and enhancing the data, code, and analytical tools supporting PNC's Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) balance sheet modeling platform.
Job Responsibilities
• Own, maintain, and enhance databases supporting QRM balance sheet valuation and interest rate risk analytics.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize production code, analytical tools, and scalable reporting solutions to improve reliability, efficiency, and analytical capabilities.
• Build automated processes for data preparation, reconciliation, quality control, reporting, and routine risk analysis.
• Leverage QRM data and outputs to create record-level analytics that provide deeper insight into balance sheet positions, valuation drivers, and risk exposures.
• Support daily and monthly production of balance sheet analytics, including troubleshooting, exception management, and resolution of time-sensitive issues.
• Collaborate with balance sheet analysts, portfolio managers, financial modelers, risk management, finance, and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical data and reporting solutions.
• Maintain robust technical documentation, operating procedures, controls, and backup coverage for critical processes.
• Support regulatory, audit, model risk, and governance initiatives related to balance sheet valuation and interest rate risk management.
• Identify and implement automation and AI-driven opportunities while maintaining appropriate controls, transparency, and production stability.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Deep expertise in Python and SQL, including experience developing, maintaining, and supporting production code and relational databases.
• Experience working with large, complex financial datasets and developing scalable data pipelines, analytical tools, and production reporting solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and risk stakeholders.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage independent, time-sensitive deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) software and knowledge of QRM valuation, economic value of equity, duration of equity, net interest income, key-rate risk, balance sheet forecasting, analytics, reporting, and output structures.
• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Prior experience in ALM, balance sheet management, treasury, market risk, or interest rate risk.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, balance sheet products (loans, deposits, fixed-income securities, derivatives), and interest rate risk concepts.
• Experience developing and maintaining applications in Java and C#, in addition to Python.

Job Description- Executes business strategy, process improvements and remediation activities. Performs financial analysis, conducts research and prepares and delivers presentations. Participates in stress testing efforts.
- Based on own discretion, researches and collects information for PNC's balance sheet.
- Analyzes, reviews and presents risk analytics/stress testing material including documentation and templates to senior team members.
- Influences lines of business in understanding specific line items of PNC's balance sheet and income statement. Works with various review teams, including model risk management, internal and external audit and regulators.
- Executes business strategy, process improvements and remediation activities. Manages ALM staff and processes.

Pay TransparencyBase Salary: $112,000.00 - $249,600.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
