Role OverviewWe are in search of an AI Scientist to join our computational team, where our core work spans three domains: Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics and Software Engineering. If you're looking to join a core group of highly motivated, versatile professionals with demonstrated expertise in applications of artificial intelligence for biomedical discovery, please read on.
The Domains We Navigate1. Machine Learning: - Design, optimize, and validate deep-learning models for high-dimensional biological data including histopathological slides, spatial transcriptomics, and structured clinical datasets.
- Translate biological insights into modeling strategies.
- Support model interpretability, robustness, and validation in regulated or translational research contexts.
2. Agentic AI:
- Architect and build agentic AI systems that reason over multiple steps, plan autonomously, and orchestrate external tools.
- Develop LLM-driven agents that retrieve, prioritize, and synthesize evidence with memory and feedback loops that let them revise hypotheses and adapt as new data emerges.
- Engineer production-grade infrastructure that unifies structured and unstructured biomedical data at scale, and rigorously assess the robustness, reliability, and interpretability of autonomous systems operating in high-stakes clinical contexts.
3. Software Engineering:
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure reproducible and efficient scientific discovery.
- Develop tools and services that support experiment tracking, reproducibility and quality control.
- Perform software validation and documentation in research or regulated diagnostic contexts.
How We WorkWe believe a small team can operate with speed, precision and efficiency by leveraging modern productivity tools. We expect you to:
- Broaden Knowledge Base: Harness new biological concepts and technical skills outside your primary expertise rapidly.
- Accelerate with Logic: Leverage AI coding agents for implementation and testing. You focus on architectural rigor and system logic.
- Think Critically: Act as the ultimate auditor to identify subtle AI-generated hallucinations in code or scientific reasoning before they reach our systems.
Who You Are- First-author contribution to state of the art AI model publications in competitive journals or conferences.
- Proven ability to drive end-to-end development on major projects.
- Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Open to recent Ph.D. graduates, postdocs, and early-career candidates with up to 5 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
Join us and be rewarded with a competitive compensation package that includes salary and equity, giving you a stake in our shared success. Beyond the numbers, you'll have the rare opportunity to make a direct, visible impact in a mission-driven organization at the forefront of life sciences innovation, where your work contributes to breakthroughs that can transform patient care and advance the future of precision medicine.
The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $175,000 for the Scientist level and $180,000 - $215,000 for Senior Scientist. This represents a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this role; actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. This range does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. This role is eligible for company benefits, including medical, vision, dental, and 401(k).
