Designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, missiles, and parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight. Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 4 you will be responsible for turning advanced aeronautics concepts into robust structural solutions that enable next-generation aircraft.

"Your responsibilities will include:"
  • Creation or modification of primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.
  • Contributing to the development, testing, and validation of aircraft structural designs.
  • Assisting in the creation of system requirements, trade studies, statements of work, and test plans.
  • Coordinating with internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and interacting with external IPTs and suppliers.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in airframe structure design
- Experience with CATIA V5
- Experience with 2D Drafting and 3D modeling of detail parts, assemblies, and GD&T
- Experience with Bill of Materials and drawing structure
- Experience with metallic design
- Experience with aircraft structural repairs

- Experience with MRB coordination and support
- Experience with basic hand stress analysis
- Experience with sheet metal design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
