Accenture Construct - Senior Manager - Systems Assurance (Northern Corridors), COM

Job Title Accenture Construct - Senior Manager - Systems Assurance (Northern Corridors), COM Location Toronto, ON CA (Primary) Category Construction Management, Engineering Job Type Full-time THE WORK: "You've Never Been Satisfied with "Good Enough." You didn't get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built. At Accenture Construct, that's the job. You'll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving - smarter, safer and more sustainably. You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won't be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land. Because "good enough" builds the past. You're here to build what's next. (Internal Title: Engineering V) Provide senior engineering management and independent technical governance for railway systems assurance, with responsibility for Systems Assurance supporting the Northern Corridors. Develop, own and execute integrated system and sub-system Engineering Safety and Assurance Cases (ESAC), bringing together comprehensive technical evidence required to demonstrate that assets, systems and delivery outcomes are safe, reliable, maintainable, operable, compliant and ready for handover and acceptance. Lead the preparation and presentation of assurance cases to the System Review Panel (SRP), securing endorsement of assurance arguments and coordinating technical input from engineering disciplines. Develop and maintain project assurance plans, evidence requirements, acceptance criteria and assurance artefacts in accordance with the Systems Engineering Management Plan and associated technical assurance processes. Evaluate engineering evidence, Verification & Validation outputs, testing and commissioning information and technical decisions to confirm they adequately support the assurance case. Identify, track and manage technical assurance gaps, unresolved hazards, compliance issues, acceptance constraints and operational readiness risks, escalating issues through appropriate engineering governance routes. Work closely with Systems Engineering, System Integration, engineering discipline leads and operational stakeholders to align assurance milestones with delivery timelines and active rail network constraints. Maintain the independence of the Systems Assurance function and provide oversight of external systems assurance consultants and delivery partners. This role is required to provide independent systems assurance and technical governance supporting delivery across the Northern Corridors, ensuring sufficient technical evidence is developed and maintained to demonstrate that new and modified rail systems are safe, compliant, reliable, maintainable, operable and ready for handover and network acceptance. The role will provide ownership and coordination of integrated Engineering Safety and Assurance Cases, bringing together multidisciplinary engineering, Verification & Validation, testing, commissioning and operational evidence into a coherent assurance position. It will provide a critical governance function by identifying unresolved hazards, evidence gaps, compliance issues, acceptance constraints and operational readiness risks before they impact system acceptance, handover or entry into service. This senior assurance capability is essential to maintaining the appropriate separation between engineering production and independent technical verification, supporting System Review Panel governance and ensuring complex infrastructure changes across the Northern Corridors can progress through assurance and acceptance with the necessary technical evidence and risk controls. Working Conditions Office-based (5 Days a week in Office) HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Experience: Minimum 10 years of direct experience in railway systems assurance, systems engineering governance or rail project delivery, including heavy rail or commuter network experience evaluating technical evidence, compiling integrated safety cases and interfacing with technical review panels. Strong knowledge of heavy rail and commuter regulatory frameworks, including Transport Canada requirements, Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR), FRA, APTA, corridor-specific access requirements and the client's engineering governance. Certified training or demonstrated competency in EN 50126, EN 50128 and/or EN 50129 CENELEC standards, or equivalent IEEE/ISO 15288 systems engineering lifecycle frameworks, is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to evaluate multidisciplinary engineering evidence, manage technical assurance gaps and risks, lead independent assurance activities and communicate complex assurance cases effectively to senior stakeholders and formal review panels. Education: University degree in Engineering, such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related heavy rail technical discipline. An equivalent engineering or applied science background supported by relevant training and experience may also be considered. Licenses OR Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status is preferred but is not mandatory because the role does not endorse or approve engineering design outputs. Role Location Annual Salary Range Toronto $121,000 to $182,000 What's in it for you The biggest builds going. Hyperscale data centers, grid and generation, transit and rail, chip fabs, mines, water. If it's complex and it matters, it's on our list. You own the outcome. Not a workstream. Not a deliverable. Whether the program lands. AI that shows up on site. Program control that predicts instead of records. You'll use it, and you'll help shape it. Scale without the distance. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, on a team small enough that people know your name. Serious investment in you. Leadership development, technical upskilling and certification support. Work that outlasts you. People will use what you build for forty years without knowing your name. That's the point. Recognition that means something in this industry.
