Full Job Description
The subteam for this role will be:

The Onboard developer platform team builds tools/solutions that enable faster model training, quality evaluation, simulation so that Waymo engineers can develop better autonomous driving models and systems.

You will:
  • Understand the problem current LPM model is trying to solve along with its details
  • Extend current reinforcement learning infrastructure and conduct experiments on our RL system. Tune parameters and compare with existing results
  • Identify promising new RL technologies and apply on Waymo problems

You have:
  • Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in software engineering, machine learning, or a related technical field
  • Fundamental understanding of machine learning and reinforcement learning
  • 2+ years of project experience involves coding and realized achievements (you are proud of the results)

We prefer:
  • 3+ years of experience on ML or RL with hands-on projects
  • 2+ years of experience on optimizing system infrastructure ( simulation, ML/RL, or other backend systems)
  • Experience in working with autonomous driving or relevant technologies

The expected hourly rate for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company's generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.

Hourly Masters Pay

$70-$70 USD
