Summary:
The Writer Editor II will provide a professional communications support contractor who will assist the Bureau Operations Director in executing the Bureau’s strategic communications plan and support the Congressional Affairs Officer in managing congressional correspondence, briefing materials, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Bureau Operations Director with implementation and coordination of OES’s strategic communication plans.
- Draft high quality talking points, remarks, briefing materials, and internal communication products for senior leadership, including the A/S and DASs.
- Coordinate development of communications materials with offices across OES to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Bureau priorities.
- Support the Congressional Affairs Officer by assisting with preparation of congressional briefing materials, tracking legislative inquiries, drafting responses, and helping with stakeholder communication.
- Assist in preparing leadership for congressional and public engagements, including compiling background materials, drafting remarks, and organizing key messages.
- Serve as a communications liaison between the Front Office and OES offices, maintaining effective coordination for message development and information flow.
- Review and edit documents for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and compliance with Department communication standards.
- Maintain knowledge management systems and organized files for all communications and congressional materials.
- Assist the Front Office in process evaluation to strengthen communication workflows and improve product consistency.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-5 years of related professional experience
- Required Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $97,000.00 to $107,00.00 annually.
