Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Specialist

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing school; RN license in good standing in Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years' clinical nursing experience.
• Certified in BLS by the American Heart Association.
• Completed accredited Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program.
• Board certified in Wound and Ostomy care.
• Preferred: Continence Certification and teaching experience in WOC nursing program development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for nursing staff related to gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders.
• Assist in staff development and education regarding patient care.
• Provide patient education in managing ostomies, fistula tubes, and dermal wounds.
• Guide nursing staff in best practices for incontinence care.
• Support quality care and improvements in wound management.
