Job DescriptionAbout the roleYou will be the senior owner of workforce translation at FIS. You will help functions examine and rethink their work through structured discovery and future-state design, then translate the agreed or emerging future state into clear implications for roles, skills, capabilities, capacity, workforce shape and structure, and advise leaders on the resulting workforce decisions.
Functions own their work, its performance and the business decisions that follow; Product and Technology own the enabling solution. You bring the methodology, challenge and expertise that help functions rethink their work, and you are accountable for what that changed work means for the workforce. In early pilots, while the enterprise method is being established, you may directly undertake elements of the redesign. This hands-on role requires product and technology experience, AI fluency, design thinking and executive influence.
Your key responsibilities- Translate the agreed or emerging future state into implications for roles, skills, capabilities, capacity, workforce shape, team structures, spans, layers, decision rights and performance measures.
- Develop evidence-based workforce scenarios, options and recommendations, and advise functional leaders on the resulting workforce decisions.
- Surface workforce implications early enough to influence design and investment decisions.
- Help functions examine how work happens today and rethink it through structured discovery and future-state design, using a repeatable work and workforce transformation methodology.
- Facilitate decisions about what work should be eliminated, simplified, automated, AI-augmented, agent-enabled or retained for human expertise, while the function retains ownership of the work and the decisions.
- Challenge incremental thinking, introduce what AI, automation and agents make possible, and prevent the simple automation of an ineffective existing process.
- Help functions and Product and Technology build human-in-the-loop checkpoints into future-state work, and reflect them in decision rights, role design and performance measures.
- Identify implications for job architecture, learning, talent and workforce planning, and hand agreed actions to Business Partners and specialist TPO teams for execution.
- Partner with functions, Product, Technology, Risk, Change Managers, Business Partners and specialist TPO teams, contributing workforce and human-in-the-loop requirements to the enabling solution.
- Use AI to explore options, challenge assumptions and develop coherent workforce scenarios and executive decision papers. Validate the evidence, logic, trade-offs and recommendations before presenting them.
- Stay connected through implementation to test assumptions, protect the workforce intent and learn from outcomes.
- Build and scale the enterprise workforce-translation methodology, evidence standards, tools, patterns and playbooks.
- Mentor and direct the Workforce Architect, Analyst Leads.
What you bringRequired qualifications
- Substantial product development, product management, service design, process design or technology-transformation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI, automation and agent concepts to real work and use AI efficiently in hands-on design and analysis. Produce high-quality, audience-appropriate deliverables through effective prompting, iterative refinement, critical evaluation and accountable human review, and explain and defend the reasoning and evidence behind the final output.
- Experience leading complex discovery, design and decision-making across senior stakeholder groups without taking ownership of the work away from the business.
- Strong design-thinking, problem-solving, solutioning, facilitation and executive-influence skills.
- Ability to move between enterprise outcomes, detailed changes in work and their consequences for roles, skills, capacity and structure.
- Courage to challenge assumptions and create credible options where no established answer exists.
- Experience turning analysis into executable workforce, talent or organizational decisions.
Preferred qualifications
- Organization design, operating-model redesign or workforce strategy experience applied to technology-enabled transformation.
- AI-enabled or agentic workflow implementation experience.
- Process-mining, workflow-platform or intelligent-automation experience.
- Experience building and scaling a new enterprise method or capability.
The impact you'll makeAs a Workforce Architect Principal, you will help turn changes in work into workforce decisions that leaders can understand and act on. Your work will help ensure AI-enabled transformation considers roles, skills, capacity, structure, human judgment and decision rights as part of future-state design. You will also help establish repeatable workforce-translation methods and evidence standards that can support future transformations across FIS.
