Job Summary

The Workday Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for leading and executing end-to-end quality assurance activities across Wipfli's Workday implementation, ensuring alignment with business requirements and successful delivery of high-quality solutions. The position focuses on leading QA strategy, planning, coordination, and oversight. This person will also participate in hands-on execution as needed during high-volume periods, issue resolution, and major projects.

The Workday Quality Asurance Lead can work in person, remote, or in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end QA strategy for the Workday implementation, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Define and execute test plans, test strategies, and test frameworks; support risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • Oversee functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing cycles
  • Ensure testing alignment across Workday modules, including HCM, Finance, Payroll, Time Tracking, and related integrations
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, including identification, prioritization, tracking, resolution, and transparent communication of issue status
  • Drive test data preparation, environment coordination, release validation, and quality reporting
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure UAT readiness, execution, sign-off, and alignment with business processes and functional requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional QA activities with developers, business analysts, system integrators, vendors, and other delivery partners
  • Ensure adherence to QA best practices, standards, and governance processes


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education, Workday, ERP, and quality assurance experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience, including 3+ years supporting Workday implementations, with a proven record of leading QA for other ERP solutions or Workday transformation programs
  • Deep understanding of Workday business processes and configurations
  • Experience with test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps and experience automating Workday functional testing
  • Strong experience in functional and end-to-end testing methodologies
  • Hands-on expertise in UAT planning, coordination, and execution, including defect management, QA metrics, and reporting
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to make informed tradeoff decisions using business value, risk, effort, and user impact
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, dependencies, and release timelines

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) implementations
  • Background in professional services, accounting, financial services, or another matrixed business environment
  • Workday PRO certification(s)
  • Experience coordinating with distributed, offshore, or third-party delivery teams
  • Formal QA certification, such as ISTQB, CSQA, or Agile Testing certification, with working knowledge of Agile frameworks. Product certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe POPM are a plus
  • Experience across multiple Workday modules, including HCM, Finance, Integrations, and Payroll
  • Familiarity with integration testing involving third-party systems

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $97,000-131,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
