Job Details:Job Description:We are looking for a Wireline Vertical Marketing Specialist to support marketing and business development for Altera's FPGA portfolio in Routing/Switching and Security. This is a role for someone with 2+ years of business development, sales, or marketing experience who wants to grow into a vertical marketing career in semiconductors.
You will work alongside a senior Wireline Vertical Marketing Managers and partner daily with Sales, Field Applications Engineers, and Product Planning. We will teach you the technology - what you bring is commercial instinct, curiosity, and the ability to get things done across a lot of moving parts.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development and Pipeline- Research target customers and market segments, and help identify new opportunities for Altera's Routing/Switching and Security solutions
- Track design wins, pipeline, and market share data, and keep segment reporting current
- Support the sales team with account research, customer profiles, and opportunity follow-up
- Help build and maintain market sizing models under the guidance of senior team members
Marketing Content and Enablement- Draft and maintain sales enablement collateral, solution briefs, presentations, and customer-facing materials
- Assemble competitive comparisons and market landscape summaries
- Coordinate content reviews across Marketing, Engineering, and Product Planning
- Keep the Wireline content library organized and current
Customer and Field Support- Support customer meetings, briefings, and trade shows, including logistics, follow-up, and note capture
- Gather customer and field feedback and route it to the right internal owners
- Help respond to sales requests for information and collateral
Cross-Functional Coordination- Work across Sales, Engineering, and Product Marketing to move projects forward
- Support product launch activities, demand generation campaigns, and digital marketing for the Wireline vertical
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, sales operations, marketing, or a comparable commercial role
- Demonstrated ability to research markets and customers and turn findings into clear, usable summaries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working across multiple teams and managing several projects at once
- Proficiency with standard business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems)
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with Ethernet protocol basics (MAC/PHY/PCS, link rates such as 100GE and 400GE)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (routing, switching, packet processing, the OSI model)
- Familiarity with FPGA basics and where programmable logic is used in networking systems
- Familiarity with network security concepts (encryption, firewalls, MACsec, IPsec)
- Exposure to the semiconductor, networking equipment, or telecom industry
- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM
- Experience with market sizing, TAM/SAM analysis, or competitive research
- Coursework or certifications in networking (for example CCNA or Network+)
