Full Job Description
Role description:

We are seeking a Water and Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer with 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in the assessment and design of water and wastewater utilities projects including pumping/lift stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities. As part of our growing Canadian Water business, you will work closely with other discipline lead engineers to advance and complete projects. You will bring your expertise to a variety of project types ranging from large municipal and industrial facility feasibility studies to the design of new communal systems projects. You will play an important role in managing design teams, project management and business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and overseeing complex projects ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards and design guidelines.

Working with our Water Team, you'll work on the design of new facilities, upgrades to existing facilities, environmental assessment and feasibility studies, condition assessments and provide engineering services during construction.

Role accountabilities:
  • Lead process mechanical design for the upgrade of existing municipal water and wastewater treatment and storage facilities and pumping/ lift stations
  • Lead process mechanical design for new communal water and wastewater systems
  • Provide process mechanical engineering services during construction including responding to RFIs, review shop drawings, conduct site inspections and participate in system testing and commissioning.
  • Develop construction documents and specifications, the basis of design including completion of detailed calculations
  • Complete assessments, develop and cost design options and prepare technical memoranda to document rationale and recommendations
  • Lead design coordination between engineering disciplines
  • Develop process flow narratives and complete hydraulic analyses
  • Assist in project management activities including budget and schedule tracking.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and business development

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5-10 years of experience in process mechanical engineering for water and wastewater facilities
  • Bachelor degree in civil or chemical engineering or recognized equivalent. Masters degree would be an asset.
  • Successful candidate must have P. Eng. designation, in good standing

The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge of CAD systems including AutoCAD and MicroStation and the REVIT modelling system, strong working knowledge of design standards, guidelines and codes are required along with strong written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and prioritize activities.

The salary range for this position is $89,600-134,400. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
