Full Job Description
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Wastewater Project Engineer for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear. As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of technical treatment strategies, selection of treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects
  • Support coordination and collaboration with clients
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
  • Support planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater-related projects.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client's needs
  • Candidate shall also be able to support preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering
  • PE license
  • 5-12 years of experience in the field of wastewater-related infrastructure, including project engineering/management (planning, design, and construction)
  • Experience in successfully delivering supporting projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
