Reports to: Operations Manager
Status: Full-time

Food & Safety Quality Level: 2

The pay range for the role is $62,600 to $104,300 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the scope of this position involves hands-on coordinating and managing the operations of both the finished goods and raw material warehouses, ensuring that HACCP regulations are followed, and exceptional customer service levels are maintained. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely and accurate loading and unloading of transport trucks and support of plant manufacturing, operations and optimizing warehouse and logistics processes through effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse:
  • Run warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and HACCP regulations
  • Supervision of warehouse staff, coordinate and prioritize workflow, provide training, performance evaluation and disciplinary procedures
  • Responsible as a super user of the warehouse management system
  • Completion of daily data entry requirements including, but not limited to invoicing, floor stock inventory, Sales Order details, and entering Purchase Orders
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve processes and productivity to ensure warehouse runs in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Monitor and maintain the Quality, Food Safety and SQF systems
  • Ensure warehouse facility is kept clean, all stock is maintained in an appropriate manner, good stock rotation practices are in place, and product is kept clean and damage free to ensure quality integrity
  • Assist in loading/unloading trucks and assembling orders
  • Completion and documentation of MSS and HACCP related items
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and weekend work and perform other duties as required
  • Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOP's & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
  • Monitor and maintain the Quality, Food Safety and SQF systems
  • Attend prescribed courses/training as required
  • Utilize and maintain a high level of proficiency within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) environment and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to support inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, reporting, and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure inventory transactions, stock movements, and warehouse documentation are accurately processed within D365 and WMS systems.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Capable of updating and developing Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Logistics:
  • Route plan and sequence calls for next day shipment requirements for Gay Lea deliveries
  • Communicate and tender sales orders to third party carriers as required
  • Coordinate daily ad-hoc delivery requirements and backhauls
  • Coordinate additional driver support as required through partnered service providers
  • Provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders as requested on ETA's, delays for sales orders
  • Ensure all POD's are collected and accounted for and scanned into knowledge link
  • Ensure all driver routing packets are prepared and assembled with required documentation, bills, RMA's, pickup appointments etc.
  • Approve/decline/process damage charges with 3rd party carriers
  • Monitor and report on driver/route KPI's
  • Document delays, and report on corrective actions for planning and systematic issues


Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education and/or minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in a lead hand or supervisory capacity
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, including excellent sanitary habits and knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is considerered a strong asset
  • Experience operating material handling equipment, including Counterbalance Forklifts, Electric Lift Trucks, Reach Trucks, and pallet jacks; certification/licensing required.
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including inventory control, warehouse transactions, and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and priority-setting skills with the ability to manage multiple competing demands.
  • Prior logistics, transportation coordination, and dispatch experience is considered an asset.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Familiar with total quality management, continuous improvement processes and food safety systems.Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient Computer skills - experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job
  • Ability and willingness to work extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as required to support operational needs.
