Purpose of the roleMHIRJ's network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Warehouse Quality Manager plans and coordinates the operations and functions of the Quality Team in the warehouse. The Quality Manager disseminates the work to be performed to the Quality team and partners with the 3PL vendors based on the complexity and scope of work to be performed. In addition, this position serves as the HSE point of contact for MHIRJ employees located on site at the 3PL vendor warehouse facility.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a Warehouse Quality Manager: - Manage a team composed of Quality Inspectors and Administrative personnel.
- Responsible for the professional development of department employees and partnering with Human Resources regarding performance management and disciplinary actions, ensuring performance meets the expectations of our business.
- Set-up and execute monthly quality plan review
- Support quality reporting and governance activities
- In parallel with the quality function, represent MHIRJ interests related to operation activities driven through the selected 3PL
- Ensure that the quality functions, related to the 3PL activities, are in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and in line with MHIRJ quality manual
- Supervise the training and deployment of Standard Practices and monitor quality consistency throughout the assigned site
- Establish and maintain quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements in conjunction with management, engineers and inspectors
- Address any systemic issue internally and with our 3PL
- Oversee periodic audits of activities and records to ensure compliance with applicable MHIRJ quality manual and Transport Canada Regulations
- Maintain current knowledge of new trends in quality
- Communicate with appropriate customer representatives as required, to ensure all quality issues and inquiries are satisfied. Also provide performance feedback to customers as required
- EHS Responsibilities:
- Act as coordination point for work related accidents, injuries, and emergency situations for MHI RJ employees working in the warehouse, responding per company procedures.
- Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Responsible for the filing, retention and storage of documentation related to injury reports, utilizing appropriate company systems.
- Provide consultation to MHI RJ warehouse management team on the application of MHI RJ safety principles, practices, or techniques.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Support safety training and demonstrate the use of safety equipment, as needed.
- Partner with 3PL EHS team (facility owners) regarding warehouse compliance with public health legislation and regulations as needed.
Here is what is required to succeed:- Bachelor's degree in aviation, Engineering, or a related technical field (equivalent experience considered).
- Minimum 5 years of quality assurance, inspection, or supervisory experience within the aerospace industry.
- A very good knowledge of aerospace quality standards and quality verification of products and their acceptance criteria
- Fluent English reading, writing and comprehension skills.
- Demonstrated experience with external audits.
- General understanding of PPE and OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products, specifically excel, word, and teams in addition to solid computer skills necessary to operate computers and web-based applications.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, customers, management, and contractor.
- Demonstrate the ability to use measuring tools, read drawings and blueprints and interpretate GD&T
- Knowledge and/or experience working with SAP (preferred)
- Experience in Aerospace aftermarket industry (preferred)
- Experience in a warehouse environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of Transport Canada and/or FAA and/or EASA regulations (preferred)
