OverviewPosition SummaryThe VP of Production is responsible for the leadership, performance, and growth of JetFuel's Production department. This role oversees a team of 10+ production & field operation professionals while setting the strategic direction, operational standards, and financial performance of the department.
The ideal candidate is an experienced experiential production leader with deep expertise in mobile tours, event production, and field marketing. This is a player-coach role that requires executive leadership while remaining actively involved in client programs, onsite execution, and new business initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesDepartment Leadership- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Executive Producers through Coordinators, Field Staff Recruiter, DOT Fleet Manager & Field Marketing Managers
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
- Manage department staffing, workload planning, and freelance resources.
Production Leadership- Provide executive oversight for all experiential, event, mobile tour, and field marketing programs.
- Establish production standards, workflows, and operational best practices.
- Oversee complex productions from planning through execution while ensuring exceptional client service.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for production challenges and critical decision making.
- Develop and maintain strategic vendor partnerships while overseeing sourcing and contract negotiations.
- Ensure all programs meet safety, permitting, insurance, compliance, and quality standards.
Business & Financial Leadership- Own the Production department's financial performance, including forecasting, profitability, margins, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee program budgets and financial planning across the department.
- Partner with Executive Leadership on agency growth, pricing strategy, proposals, client presentations, and new business pitches.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
Cross-Functional Partnership- Partner with Client Services, Creative, Growth, Operations, and Executive Leadership to deliver exceptional client experiences.
- Align production strategy with agency goals and client objectives.
- Support agency initiatives that strengthen collaboration and operational excellence.
Hands-On Leadership- Personally lead key client programs and high-profile productions when appropriate.
- Travel regularly for client meetings, site visits, and onsite event execution.
- Remain actively engaged in the work while empowering the team to own day-to-day execution.
QualificationsHere's what you got:- 12+ years of experiential marketing and event production experience.
- Significant leadership experience managing a production department of 10+ employees.
- Expertise producing national mobile tours, live events, field marketing programs, and experiential campaigns.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million dollar budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
- Proven success supporting agency new business efforts through rapid development of production approaches, budgets, timelines, staffing plans, and execution strategies. Experience collaborating closely with Growth teams to bring pitches to life while balancing creativity, feasibility, and profitability.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Experience implementing scalable production processes and operational systems.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management, logistics, fabrication, and event operations.
- Experience with Monday.com, Adobe Workfront, or similar project management platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Slack.
- CAD, SketchUp, or Vectorworks experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as business needs require.
- Based in the New York metropolitan area with the ability to work a hybrid schedule.
Compensation$180,000.00- $190,000.00/year, plus bonus and benefits eligiblity
