Job Summary:

The Vice President of Operations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational activities within the hospital's various departments. The role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare operations to ensure the hospital runs efficiently while delivering high-quality patient care. The Vice President of Operations will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop and implement operational strategies, and drive process improvements to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop the hospital's operational strategies, goals, and objectives.
    • Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation.
    • Develop and implement action plans to enhance operational efficiency, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.

Departmental Oversight:
    • Provide leadership and guidance to department heads to ensure effective coordination and collaboration across departments.
    • Monitor departmental performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective measures.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing employee engagement, teamwork, and accountability.

Process Optimization:
    • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in operational processes and develop strategies to streamline workflows.
    • Implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient flow, reduce wait times, and optimize resource utilization.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency and patient care delivery.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance teams to develop and implement quality improvement programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor and evaluate quality metrics, patient safety indicators, and patient satisfaction scores, taking necessary actions to address any identified issues.
    • Promote a culture of patient safety and adherence to best practices across all departments.

Financial Management:
    • Collaborate with the Finance department to develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control
    • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction through operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
    • Monitor financial performance indicators and implement measures to optimize financial outcomes.


Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that enhance patient care delivery.
    • Foster strong working relationships with internal and external partners, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Represent the hospital in meetings, conferences, and industry events, showcasing the hospital's operational excellence.


Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations management, required
  • Experience with a focus on hospital operations, preferred


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, required
  • Master's degree, preferred
