Full Job Description
The Role

As VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be responsible for building the financial engine behind Peregrine's next stage of growth, including our long-range model, the annual operating plan, forecasting process, and the analysis behind our most consequential investment decisions. You will also scale and develop a high-performance team. The ideal candidate has worked in both the ambiguity of a high-growth startup and the rigor of a mature private or public company and will help build the financial infrastructure required to support the business as it grows. You will report to the CFO and partner closely with the Controller, who owns accounting operations, and with leaders across the business.

What You'll Do
  • Build and continuously evolve Peregrine's multi-year model, translating strategic goals into a driver-based financial roadmap that leadership can use to make high-quality decisions
  • Design and lead the company-wide annual operating plan, partnering with department heads to build driver-based budgets and headcount plans tied to company goals
  • Establish a monthly budget versus actuals cadence, diagnose variance drivers, hold leaders accountable to plan, and work with them to identify mitigation options
  • Build the forecasting methodology and cadence for a multi-segment GTM focused on both public-sector and commercial enterprises
  • Develop a view on Peregrine's unit economics across product lines and segments, with a specific focus on gross margin, FDE costs, infrastructure and compute costs, CAC and payback by segment, and net dollar retention
  • Build financial cases for our largest bets, including expansion to new segments, investment in new product lines, international entry, and pricing and packaging changes, among others
  • Own financial reporting and narrative for the CFO, executive team, Board, and investors, and prepare analysis required for future financings, strategic transactions, and IPO readiness
  • Hire and develop the FP&A team, and build it in an AI-native way, automating lower-level activities and freeing up time to focus on higher-value work

Who You Are
  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including an analytical foundation at an investment bank, private equity firm, or top-tier consulting firm, followed by strategic finance or FP&A leadership at a high-growth technology company
  • Demonstrated ownership of a company-wide annual planning cycle, including driving cross-functional alignment and managing the process to a timeline
  • Exceptional financial modeling capability paired with hands-on data fluency. You should be comfortable pulling your own data and working in SQL or the equivalent
  • Fluency in complex revenue models, ideally spanning subscription, consumption, and professional services, with a clear view of how each behaves in gross margin and cash flow
  • You should be AI-native, with examples of how you've eliminated recurring manual work
  • Exceptional executive communication. You are able to articulate complex topics and focus on what matters at the appropriate altitude for CEO and Board-level discussions
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and develop quantitative talent, and build a high-performance team and strong culture
  • Experience with government contracting, regulated customer environments, or long procurement cycles is a strong plus
  • Experience supporting international expansion is a plus
  • Willing to work in our San Francisco office 4x/week

Salary Range: $260,000 - $340,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity (if applicable) + Bonus (if applicable)

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, certifications or licenses, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here.
