Beyond traditional financial stewardship, this position holds executive ownership over
Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Contract Management.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Leadership & Strategic Planning- Direct all financial operations, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial modeling, and cash flow management.
- Provide executive-level financial analysis and actionable insights to drive profitability, gross margin optimization, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Oversee capital structure, banking relationships, insurance, and credit facilities.
2. Accounting and Compliance- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, contract billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure rigorous compliance with customer contracts and related requirements.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure audit-ready financial statements.
- Ensure compliance and reporting related to credit facilities.
3. Contract Management & Administration- Oversee the cradle-to-grave contract lifecycle management process, including proposal pricing, cost-profit analysis, and administration.
- Review prime contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and teaming agreements to mitigate risk regarding intellectual property, indemnification, and liability.
- Ensure adherence to contract terms, milestones, and reporting deliverables across FFP, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract vehicles.
- Ensure timely reporting and billing of all contracts
4. Human Resources Leadership- Oversee the HR function, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, talent acquisition, retention, and compensation/benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and contract specific regulations (e.g., SCA, DBA, OFCCP, EEOC, and security clearance requirements).
- Guide leadership on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
5. Information Technology & Security Infrastructure- Direct the IT strategy and operations, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure.
- Oversee compliance with cybersecurity frameworks mandated for defense contractors.
- Manage IT vendors, software licenses (ERP/accounting systems), and disaster recovery protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA and CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive financial and operational leadership experience.
- Executive Competencies: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; a player-coach mentality willing to roll up their sleeves in a $20M organization while operating with executive gravitas.
