Vice President of Finance Location: Newport Beach, CA (Hybrid)

An established, real estate development company is seeking a Vice President of Finance to work alongside the current CFO to run the accounting and finance organization.

You'll partner closely with an experienced CFO. The role offers exceptional executive exposure, and significant interaction with ownership and capital partners.

The Opportunity

This is a highly strategic role requiring a finance executive who can confidently present to sophisticated private equity investors, influence executive leadership, and serve as a trusted advisor across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with the CFO
  • Lead enterprise FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Present financial results and strategic analyses to executive leadership, the Board, and private equity partners.
  • Lead treasury, cash management, and capital planning activities.
  • Evaluate land acquisitions, development opportunities, and investment returns through sophisticated financial modeling.
  • Partner with operations on strategic planning, profitability analysis, and major business initiatives.
  • Oversee finance systems and support the continued evolution of the finance organization.

Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Significant experience within residential homebuilding or residential real estate development.
  • Strong background in land acquisition finance and development economics.
  • Capital markets experience, including interaction with private equity, institutional investors, family offices, or lenders.
  • Outstanding FP&A, financial modeling, treasury, and executive presentation skills.
  • Executive presence with the confidence and credibility to build strong relationships with experienced private equity investors.
  • Current CFO or VP of Finance ready to assume a CFO role in the near future.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $300,000-$350,000
  • Target Bonus: 30%+ (negotiable for exceptional candidates)
