Full Job Description
Responsibilities VP, Field Underwriting serves as the strategic, operational, and motivational leader for enterprisewide field underwriting operations. This role provides overarching leadership across all field underwriting functions, ensuring consistent execution, profitable growth, underwriting discipline, and strong producer relationships across BTUs full domestic footprint. National Underwriting Leadership Oversee enterprisewide field underwriting operations, ensuring consistent underwriting strategy, execution, and quality across all regions. Drive profitability by managing underwriting performance, portfolio mix, pricing adequacy, and risk selection across the entire field organization. Ensure adherence to BTU underwriting guidelines, appetite, authority levels, and regulatory requirements across all field offices. Partner with actuarial, claims, and risk control to guide underwriting decisions and maintain alignment with BTUs technologycentric risk approach. Sales, Distribution & Market Engagement Lead national sales and distribution strategies that support BTUs specialized positioning as a global technology insurance provider. Strengthen and expand producer and broker relationships across the companys footprint. Oversee enterprisewide delivery of agency training, product education, and field marketing initiatives. Represent BTU in the technology insurance marketplace as a subjectmatter expert in underwriting for technologyexposed businesses. Operational Leadership & Governance Develop and implement consistent underwriting processes, workflows, and quality assurance standards across all field teams. Conduct regular underwriting audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency and quality. Ensure strong alignment between field operations and corporate underwriting strategy. Talent Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop field underwriting staff at all levels across the enterprise. Promote BTUs culture of innovation, specialization, and collaborative problemsolving. Oversee staffing, succession planning, and capability building across field underwriting functions. May perform other functions as assigned Qualifications Education Bachelors degree required (or equivalent experience). Qualifications Minimum 10+ years of multiline underwriting and marketing experience. Travel: Frequently Demonstrated success leading underwriting teams at a regional, national, or enterprise level. Deep knowledge of property, casualty, professional liability, and cyber coverages for technologyfocused businesses. Strong analytical, decisionmaking, and negotiation skills. Excellent leadership and communication abilities with a track record of developing highperforming teams. Working knowledge of underwriting systems and digital workflows. Valid drivers license required. Must maintain a valid drivers license and carry vehicle insurance coverage.
